Will AI apps replace browsers?
Let's talk about something a lot have people have been singing on the rooftops.
The slow crash of web users.
There's a widely held belief that people are visiting websites less and less with each passing day due to artificial intelligence.
When ChatGPT first gained massive traction, most believed it was going to destroy Google's advertising business, but so far, it's done no such thing.
Notwithstanding, there's been noticable behavioral changes to how people use the Internet.
Some websites have recorded decline in human users and rise in bot visitors.
In recent time, where AI-powered robots run autonomously across systems and the web, it's been pretty evident what the future will look like.
I was randomly thinking about all of this and then I realized that the brower companies could face new deep-pockets competitions.
Today, the biggest threat to these companies are not alternative players in their industry, rather, it will be AI companies, not because these companies are actively targeted these markets, but because the access UI is changing.
If people increasing rely on AI there become less reasons to open a browser app. I think that it is also worth noting that as the name implies "browser," when the UI needs for users change, people will have less need to browse anything with this application.
