Stitch by stitch, my shawl is taking shape 🧶
Greetings and blessings, my dear knitting friends. I hope you are all in good health and spirits.
I've been very busy with my knitting needles lately, because I've been knitting the shawl I learned to make on Saturday in my knitting class. Since then, I've been making slow progress, enjoying every stitch, and I like each row more than the last.
What I love most are the relief stitches. They have something very special... they make the fabric look textured, alive, as if the shawl had little paths forming as the rows progress. Every time I finish a section, I stare at it for a while because the effect is truly beautiful.

En estos días he estado muy entretenida con las agujas, porque he estado tejiendo el chal que aprendí el sábado en mi curso de tejido. Desde entonces, he ido avanzando poco a poco, disfrutando cada puntada, y cada fila me gusta más que la anterior.
Lo que más me tiene encantada son los puntos de relieve. Tienen algo muy especial… hacen que el tejido se vea con textura, con vida, como si el chal tuviera pequeños caminos que se van formando a medida que avanzan las vueltas. Cada vez que termino una sección me quedo mirándolo un rato porque de verdad el efecto es precioso.

Another thing that makes me very happy is the colors I chose. Sometimes choosing colors can be quite a challenge, but this time I felt I hit the nail on the head. The colors combine beautifully with each other and further highlight the design that the shawl is taking on. Seeing how the fabric grows and how the stitches begin to form the pattern is a joy that only those of us who love to knit can understand.
Knitting this shawl has also been a moment of pause for me. So much so that I've even put off some of the things I usually do every day without stopping. Sitting down for a while with the yarn in my hands, counting stitches, and watching everything take shape has become a little space of peace and calm for me.
Here's a sample of my progress so far. There's still a way to go, but the design is starting to show, and that has me very excited. I'd like to spend the day knitting so I can see it finished in a few days.
I hope to be able to show it to you very soon. In the meantime, I'll continue to enjoy every stitch. 🧶✨
Otra cosa que me tiene muy feliz son los tonos que escogí. A veces elegir colores puede ser todo un reto, pero esta vez sentí que di en el clavo. Los colores se combinan muy bonito entre sí y resaltan aún más el diseño que va tomando el chal. Ver cómo el tejido crece y cómo los puntos empiezan a dibujar el patrón es una alegría que solo quienes amamos tejer podemos entender.
Tejer este chal también ha sido un momento de pausa para mí. Tanto, que incluso he pospuesto algunas de esas cosas que acostumbro hacer todos los días sin parar. Sentarme un rato con el hilo entre las manos, contar puntos y ver cómo todo va tomando forma se ha convertido en un pequeño espacio de paz y calma para mí.
Por aquí, les dejo una muestra de mi avance hasta ahora. Todavía le falta camino, pero ya empieza a verse el diseño y eso me tiene muy emocionada. Me gustaría pasar el día tejiendo para poder verlo listo en pocos días.
Espero poder mostrárselo terminado muy pronto. Mientras tanto, sigo disfrutando cada puntada. 🧶✨
