Hoy quiero compartir con esta hermosa y creativa comunidad de manualidades la elaboración de un hermoso juego de collar y aretes que aprendà a hacer en mi curso de bisuterÃa. Luego de las vacaciones decembrinas, nos volvimos a encontrar para hacer nuevos proyectos. En esta primera clase del año, la profesora nos enseñó a perfeccionar el nudo rosario y a hacer los herrajes para elaborar collares con más detalles. Me encanta cuando hay proyectos nuevos porque cada vez avanzamos un poco más y el nivel de dificultad va siendo mayor, lo cual me motiva a prestar más atención y no olvidar el paso a paso de cómo debemos hacer estos herrajes.

Today I want to share with this beautiful and creative craft community how to make a beautiful necklace and earring set that I learned to make in my jewelry-making class. After the December holidays, we got back together to work on new projects. In this first class of the year, the teacher taught us how to perfect the rosary knot and make the findings to create necklaces with more details. I love it when there are new projects because we advance a little more each time, and the level of difficulty increases, which motivates me to pay more attention and not forget the step-by-step process of how to make these findings.

Materiales
Para la elaboración del collar y de los aretes utilicé los siguientes materiales:
• Alambre dorado calibre 18 y calibre 26 para el detalle en los aretes.
• Cristales facetados número 8 en diferentes tonos de amarillo y ocre.
• Pinzas: seis en uno, pinza plana, pinza de punta redonda y cortador.
Materials
I used the following materials to make the necklace and earrings:
• 18-gauge gold wire and 26-gauge wire for the detail on the earrings.
• Number 8 faceted crystals in different shades of yellow and ochre.
• Pliers: six-in-one, flat-nose, round-nose, and cutter.

Paso a paso
Con todos los materiales dispuestos en la mesa de trabajo, inserté todos los cristales en el rollito de alambre número 18, luego hice, en serie, la cantidad de piezas que iba a necesitar para armar el collar que en total fueron 13 piezas.
¿Cómo se hacen estas piezas?
En la punta del alambre, hacemos una argolla doble y dejamos un pedazo como de 2.5 cms de alambre para hacer el entorchado del nudo rosario, subimos el cristal, y medimos para hacer lo mismo del otro lado: la argolla doble y el entorchado. Cortamos, separando la pieza del rollo de hilo, y asà queda lista con el cristal para armar el collar.
¿Cómo unimos estas piezas?
Las unimos con eslabones en forma de ochos o infinitos. Para esto, usé alambre número de 18 y la pinza seis en uno. Estos eslabones los hice grandes con el número seis de la pinza. También, podemos hacerlos con la pinza de punta redonda o cónica en su parte más grande.
Lo primero es hacer una argolla en la pinza seis en uno, girando hasta que se encuentre la punta del alambre con el cuerpo del mismo. Luego, posicionamos la pinza para hacer la otra parte del ocho, a partir de la argolla que ya hicimos, y giramos hacia el otro lado para completar. Por último, cortamos, y asà queda esta pieza que nos servirá para unir las piezas con los cristales.
Step by step
With all the materials laid out on the work table, I inserted all the crystals into the 18-gauge wire roll, then made the number of pieces I would need to assemble the necklace, which was 13 pieces in total.
How are these pieces made?
At the tip of the wire, we make a double loop and leave a piece of wire about 2.5 cm long to make the rosary knot twist. We add the glass bead and measure to do the same on the other side: the double loop and the twist. We cut the piece from the wire roll, and it is now ready with the glass bead to assemble the necklace.
How do we join these pieces?
We join them with links in the shape of eights or infinity symbols. For this, I used 18-gauge wire and six-in-one pliers. I made these links large with the number six pliers. We can also make them with round-nose or conical pliers on the largest part.
The first step is to make a ring with the six-in-one pliers, twisting until the tip of the wire meets the body of the wire. Then, we position the pliers to make the other part of the figure eight, starting from the ring we already made, and twist to the other side to complete it. Finally, we cut it, and this is the piece that will be used to join the pieces with the crystals.

Ahora, con todas las piezas listas, solo nos queda armar el collar, uniendo las piezas con los eslabones en forma de ocho, abriendo un poquito una de las argollas e insertamos la pieza con el cristal. AsÃ, repetimos el procedimiento, las unimos todas y hacemos un broche de cierre. Con esto, tenemos listo este hermoso collar. Al final, yo agregué una pieza más con dos eslabones como si fuera un dije. Y, además, hice unos zarcillos sencillos para complementar este juego.
Asà pues, el resultado es este accesorio delicado, elegante y con mucha personalidad, ideal para usar con cualquier look.

Now that all the pieces are ready, all that's left is to assemble the necklace, joining the pieces with the figure-eight links, opening one of the rings slightly, and inserting the piece with the crystal. We repeat the process, joining them all together and making a clasp. With that, this beautiful necklace is ready. Finally, I added one more piece with two links, like a charm. I also made some simple earrings to complement this set.
The result is this delicate, elegant accessory with lots of personality, ideal for wearing with any look.
