Our Father's Day Celebration at Ajiaco & Frijoles🍽️
For Father’s Day, we wanted to do something simple but very special, so we went out as a family to share a lunch that we’d really enjoy and that would be a tribute to the best dad in the world—my husband. Since we all love ajiaco so much, we started looking for recommendations, and several people suggested the same place: Ajiaco & Frijoles. We were told they served one of the best ajiacos in the city, so we decided to check it out for ourselves.
From the moment we arrived, we felt very comfortable and full of anticipation. When they finally served us the ajiaco, we understood why so many people had recommended it. It was absolutely delicious. It had a comforting, homemade flavor. Plus, it came with plenty of chicken, which is always appreciated because it makes the dish feel much more substantial and generous.
El Día del Padre quisimos hacer algo sencillo, pero muy especial, nos fuimos a compartir en familia un almuerzo que realmente disfrutáramos y que fuera un homenaje para el mejor papá del mundo, mi esposo. Como a todos nos gusta mucho el ajiaco, comenzamos a buscar recomendaciones y varias personas coincidieron en un mismo lugar: Ajiaco & Frijoles. Nos dijeron que allí preparaban uno de los mejores ajiacos de la ciudad, así que decidimos comprobarlo por nosotros mismos.
Desde que llegamos nos sentimos muy cómodos y con muchas expectativas. Cuando finalmente nos sirvieron el ajiaco, entendimos por qué tantas personas lo recomendaban. Estaba absolutamente delicioso. Tenía un sabor casero y reconfortante. Además, venía con bastante pollito, algo que siempre se agradece porque hace el plato mucho más completo y generoso.

As it should be, the ajiaco was served with all its traditional accompaniments: rice, avocado, capers, corn on the cob, and some fried plantains that were spectacular. Everything was truly delicious. To go with lunch, we ordered a fresh lemonade that turned out to be the perfect accompaniment. It was fresh, refreshing, and ideal to enjoy alongside such a traditional and hearty meal.
We loved seeing my husband enjoy every detail of the lunch and feel pampered on his special day. He left happy, satisfied, and very grateful for the menu choice.
Without a doubt, it was a celebration full of love and good food. And if anyone ever asks me where to enjoy an excellent ajiaco, Ajiaco & Frijoles is a recommendation I’ll gladly make.
Como debe ser, el ajiaco estaba acompañado de todos sus complementos tradicionales: arroz, aguacate, alcaparras, mazorca y unos platanitos fritos que estaban espectaculares. Realmente todo estaba deliciosísimo. Para acompañar el almuerzo pedimos una limonada natural que resultó ser el complemento perfecto. Estaba fresca, refrescante, ideal para disfrutar junto a una comida tan tradicional y abundante.
Nos encantó ver a mi esposo disfrutar cada detalle del almuerzo y sentirse consentido en su día. Terminó feliz, satisfecho y muy agradecido por la elección del menú.
Sin duda, fue una celebración llena de cariño y de buena comida. Y si alguna vez me preguntan dónde disfrutar un excelente ajiaco, Ajiaco & Frijoles será una recomendación que haré con mucho gusto.
