My first cross stitch embroidery finished

I finished my cross stitch embroidery and I tell you that it has been a rewarding experience to return to this technique after so many years. Since I started, I felt that special pleasure of seeing how, stitch after stitch, the design was taking shape. Rediscovering this work filled me with nostalgia and satisfaction, although I must admit that, when I finished it, I realized that I still have to improve some details in the technique, but I am happy with the result. For being the first one in a long time, I think it looks pretty good.

I wanted to give it a special touch and I embroidered a border so that it wouldn't fray, although, when I did it with the frame, it wasn't as neat as I would have liked. But that's also part of the learning process, and I know what to improve in the next embroidery.

Terminé mi bordado en punto de cruz y les cuento que ha sido una experiencia gratificante volver a esta técnica después de tantos años. Desde que comencé, sentí ese placer especial de ver cómo, puntada tras puntada, iba tomando forma el diseño. Redescubrir esta labor me llenó de nostalgia y satisfacción, aunque debo admitir que, al finalizarlo, me di cuenta de que aún tengo que mejorar algunos detalles en la técnica, pero me siento contenta con el resultado. Para ser el primero en mucho tiempo, creo que luce bastante bien.

Quise darle un toque especial y bordé una orilla para que no se deshilachara, aunque, al hacerlo con el bastidor, no quedó tan prolija como hubiera querido. Pero eso también es parte del aprendizaje, y ya sé qué mejorar en un próximo bordado.

Now that it is finished, I thought about the possible uses. It could be a small decorative scarf or even a special piece to adorn a corner of my home. Experimenting a bit, I decided to put it inside the frame of a picture frame, and I loved the way it looks. Framed, it highlights every detail and acquires a more elegant air.

I definitely want to keep practicing and perfecting the technique. This has been just the beginning of a new stage with cross stitch, and I'm already excited about the projects to come.

Ahora que está terminado, pensé en las posibilidades de uso. Podría ser un pequeño pañuelo decorativo o incluso una pieza especial para adornar algún rincón de mi hogar. Experimentando un poco, decidí ponerlo dentro del marco de un portarretrato, y me encantó cómo se ve. Enmarcado, resalta cada detalle y adquiere un aire más elegante.

Definitivamente, quiero seguir practicando y perfeccionando la técnica. Este ha sido solo el comienzo de una nueva etapa con el punto de cruz, y ya estoy emocionada por los proyectos que vendrán.
