My first bracelet made in the jewelry course(EN-ES)
Hello, Jewelry community! I hope you are doing very well with health and well-being and that inspiration and creativity is always by your side.
For a long time now, costume jewelry and wirework have aroused in me a great curiosity. I love to see handmade accessories: necklaces with beautiful stones, bracelets full of color, beautiful rings. I always wondered how they made them, what materials were used, and most of all, if I would be able to create something like that at some point. So when I saw that the library in my community was going to offer a course, I didn't hesitate for a second. I took advantage of the fact that I had already bought some basic tools to make my woven tendrils and I decided to participate.

Desde hace tiempo, la bisutería y el alambrismo han despertado en mí una gran curiosidad. Me encanta ver accesorios hechos a mano: collares con piedras hermosas, pulseras llenas de color, anillos hermosos. Siempre me preguntaba cómo los hacían, qué materiales se usaban, y sobre todo, si yo sería capaz de crear algo así en algún momento. Así que cuando vi que en la biblioteca de mi comunidad iban a dictar un curso, no lo dudé ni un segundo. Aproveché que ya había comprado algunas herramientas básicas para elaborar mis zarcillos tejidos y me animé a participar.
The first class was a very pleasant experience. The teacher, with a lot of patience and enthusiasm, started showing us the most essential tools to work with wire: flat pliers, cutting pliers, round-tipped pliers... Each one has its specific function, and I found it fascinating how such a simple tool can help you shape your ideas. She also gave us tips on how to use them correctly and safely, which I found very useful.
La primera clase fue una experiencia muy grata. La profesora, con mucha paciencia y entusiasmo, comenzó mostrándonos las herramientas más esenciales para trabajar con alambre: pinzas planas, de corte, de punta redonda… Cada una tiene su función específica, y me pareció fascinante cómo una herramienta tan sencilla puede ayudarte a dar forma a tus ideas. Además, nos dio consejos para usarlas de forma correcta y segura, lo cual me pareció muy útil.

After the theoretical part came the practical part. We were given a small piece of aluminum wire, easy to manipulate and perfect to start with, and we began to play with it. With the guidance of the teacher, we learned to make a kind of “P”, which would later become the main bead to make a bracelet. It was like a kind of “pre-exercise” to loosen the hand and lose the fear of the material. I really enjoyed feeling how the wire responded to the movements, how with a little attention and practice it could take shape.
The project of the day was precisely a bracelet that we worked with those shapes we learned to make and several colored beads as protagonists. I can't deny that at the beginning my hands were a little clumsy, but little by little I understood how to bend the wire delicately and firmly at the same time. At the end of the day, I was happy with the result: a simple bracelet, but made by me, and with the desire to continue learning.
Después de la parte teórica vino la práctica. Nos entregaron un pedacito de alambre de aluminio, fácil de manipular y perfecto para comenzar, y empezamos a jugar con él. Con la guía de la profesora, aprendimos a hacer una especie de “P”, que luego se convertiría en el abalorio principal para hacer una pulsera. Fue como una especie de “ejercicio previo” para soltar la mano y perderle el miedo al material. Me gustó muchísimo sentir cómo el alambre respondía a los movimientos, cómo con un poco de atención y práctica podía ir tomando forma.
El proyecto del día fue precisamente una pulsera que trabajamos con esas formas que aprendimos a hacer y varias cuentas de colores como protagonistas. No puedo negar que al principio mis manos estaban un poco torpes, pero poco a poco fui entendiendo cómo doblar el alambre con delicadeza y firmeza al mismo tiempo. Al final del día, me sentí feliz con el resultado: una pulsera sencilla, pero hecha por mí, y con el deseo de seguir aprendiendo.

This art of costume jewelry and wire wrap is a mixture of technique, creativity and patience. I realized that you don't need to be an expert to start, you just need to be willing to learn and let yourself go. I am starting this path with a lot of excitement, open to discover everything I can create with my hands. I already imagine myself making earrings, necklaces, rings, some for myself, others to give as gifts, and even, why not, to sell at some point.
I am grateful to be able to participate in these valuable learning spaces. Sometimes you don't realize what you are capable of doing until you try. This course has been a nice surprise for me, and it is just the beginning. I am sure there will be many more classes full of discoveries and beautiful pieces to come.
Este arte de la bisutería y el alambrismo es una mezcla entre técnica, creatividad y paciencia. Me di cuenta de que no hace falta ser experta para comenzar, solo tener ganas de aprender y dejarse llevar. Yo estoy empezando este camino con mucha emoción, abierta a descubrir todo lo que puedo crear con mis manos. Ya me imagino haciendo aretes, collares, anillos, algunos para mí, otros para regalar, e incluso, por qué no, para vender en algún momento.
Me siento agradecida por poder participar en estos espacios de aprendizaje tan valiosos. A veces uno no se da cuenta de lo que es capaz de hacer hasta que lo intenta. Este curso ha sido una linda sorpresa para mí, y apenas es el comienzo. Estoy segura de que vendrán muchas más clases llenas de descubrimientos y de piezas hermosas.
