My favorite dish, the taste of my roots🫓🍽️
Greetings, my dear Ladies of Hive. I hope you are all doing very well and enjoying good health and well-being.
I’m back in the community to participate in the 297th edition of the contest that our dear Ladies of Hive invite us to join every week. This time, I’ll be answering one of the questions posed by our friend @ifarmgirl:
2️⃣ What food or dish are you loyal to for life, and why?
If there’s one food I’d be loyal to for life, I’d have to say it’s very hard for me to choose just one. I love many dishes and enjoy trying different flavors. Some foods remind me of my childhood, others of family gatherings, and some simply make me happy. But if I ultimately have to choose one, without a doubt, I’ll go with arepas.

Estoy de vuelta por la comunidad para participar en la edición #297 del concurso al que nos invitan, semanalmente, las estimadas Damas de Hive. En esta ocasión, daré respuesta a una de las preguntas que nos ha propuesto la amiga @ifarmgirl:
2️⃣ ¿A qué comida o plato eres fiel de por vida y por qué?
Si hay una comida a la que sería fiel de por vida, tendría que decir que me resulta muy difícil escoger solo una. Me encantan muchos platos y disfruto probar sabores diferentes. Hay comidas que me recuerdan a mi infancia, otras a reuniones familiares y algunas simplemente me hacen feliz. Pero si al final tengo que elegir una, sin duda, me quedo con las arepas.
Arepas are much more than just food for those of us born in Venezuela. They’re part of our identity, our traditions, and those everyday moments we hold dear in our hearts. No matter where in the world we are, we always find a way to make an arepa, because it makes us feel a little closer to home.
They’re always on my table for breakfast or dinner. I love taking my time making them, watching them brown, and then filling them with whatever I have on hand: cheese, chicken, beef, avocado, eggs, or simply butter. The best part is that they always taste good because they’re made with love.
I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of eating arepas—they’re simple, versatile, and, for me, they’ll always taste like my homeland and my family.
Las arepas son mucho más que un alimento para quienes nacimos en Venezuela. Son parte de nuestra identidad, de nuestras costumbres y de esos momentos cotidianos que llevamos en el corazón. No importa en qué lugar del mundo estemos, siempre buscamos la manera de preparar una arepa, porque con ella también sentimos que estamos un poquito más cerca de casa.
En mi mesa nunca faltan en el desayuno o en la cena. Me encanta hacerlas con calma, ver cómo se doran y luego rellenarlas con lo que tenga a la mano: queso, pollo, carne, aguacate, huevo o simplemente mantequilla. Lo bonito es que siempre saben bien porque están hechas con amor.
Creo que nunca me cansaría de comer arepas, pues son sencillas, versátiles y, para mí, siempre tendrán el sabor de mi tierra y de mi familia.

Yk, being loyal to one food or dish is kinda too much, there's too many delicious food in this world and our favorite roday might change tomorrow. Its cool u we're able to choose one (≧▽≦). And it looks really good that I want to try that. Sad, we don't have Arepas in our country. ಠ◡ಠ
