After a week without being able to attend my wirework classes in the jewelry course due to commitments with my daughter, today I returned with my batteries recharged and more enthusiasm than ever. To be honest, I really missed that space where I can disconnect from everything and focus on learning, creating, and enjoying what my hands are capable of doing with a little patience and a lot of enthusiasm.

Después de una semanita sin poder asistir a mis clases de alambrismo en el curso de bisutería por todos los compromisos con mi hija, hoy volví con las pilas recargadas y con más entusiasmo que nunca. La verdad, extrañaba un montón este espacio donde me desconecto de todo y me concentro en aprender, en crear y en disfrutar lo que mis manos son capaces de hacer con un poquito de paciencia y mucha ilusión.

In today's class, we learned how to make hearts. I am a fan of hearts; they convey tenderness and joy to me, and I have always liked to incorporate them into what I do. I thought this technique would be complicated, that it would be difficult to shape them, but it turned out to be easier than I imagined. The teacher showed us how to play with the wire to create the curves, and before I knew it, I had my first little heart ready. Then I kept practicing and tried different sizes and styles: some plumper, others more elongated, some perfect and others a little freer, and I really had a lot of fun.
En la clase de hoy, aprendimos a hacer corazones. Yo soy una fanática de los corazones, me transmiten ternura y alegría, y siempre me ha gustado incorporarlos en lo que hago. Pensé que esta técnica sería complicada, que me iba a costar mucho darles forma, pero resultó más sencilla de lo que imaginaba. La profesora nos mostró cómo jugar con el alambre para dar las curvas y, cuando me di cuenta, ya tenía mi primer corazoncito listo. Después seguí practicando y probé con diferentes tamaños y estilos: unos más gorditos, otros más alargados, unos perfectos y otros un poco más libres, y la verdad me divertí muchísimo.

This week's task is to make heart earrings edged with bugle beads. I like the idea because I know that with the crystals and the sparkle of the seed beads, they can look spectacular. But I'm going to confess something: I'm already dying to make them with crochet. I have a weakness for yarn and needles, so as soon as I finish the task as requested by the teacher, I'm going to indulge myself by making some crocheted heart earrings on these heart bases.
I want to try embroidery floss to give them a finer, more delicate finish, something that combines the technique I enjoy so much with what I'm learning now. I'm excited to think about all the possibilities that open up when mixing techniques: wirework, stones, seed beads, or crochet. It's like having a universe of materials and tools to play with and let my creativity run wild.
So today I left class happy, with my hearts and a bunch of ideas in my head. And I'm already dreaming about those earrings that I'll show you soon, because I'm sure they'll be as pretty as I imagine them. 2Also, I still have to do last week's homework, which I will show you when I finish it.
La tarea de esta semana es hacer unos aretes de corazón bordeados con canutillo. Me gusta la idea porque sé que con los cristales y el brillo del canutillo pueden quedar espectaculares. Pero les voy a confesar algo: yo ya estoy loca por hacerlos en crochet. Mi debilidad son los hilos y las agujas, así que apenas termine la tarea como la pide la profesora, me voy a dar el gusto de hacer unos aretes de corazón tejidos en estas bases de corazones.
Quiero probar con madeja de bordar para darles un acabado más fino y delicado, algo que combine esa técnica que tanto disfruto con lo que estoy aprendiendo ahora. Me emociona pensar en todas las posibilidades que se abren mezclando técnicas: alambrismo, piedras, canutillos o crochet. Esto es como tener un universo de materiales y herramientas para jugar y dejar volar la creatividad.
Así que hoy salí feliz de la clase, con mis corazones y un montón de ideas en la cabeza. Y yo ya estoy soñando con esos aretes que pronto les voy a mostrar, porque seguro van a quedar tan lindos como me los imagino. Además, tengo pendiente por hacer la tarea de la semana pasada que cuando la termine se las mostraré.
