Happy Knitters' Day (EN-ES)
Happy Saturday, my dear friends of the needles. I hope you are in good health and well-being and that you enjoy this weekend to the fullest, together with your loved ones.
Today, I received congratulations from a Colombian friend for being a knitter, since this July 13 is celebrated in Colombia and other countries as the National Knitting Day.
I thanked her and immediately searched the Internet for this information. Among the pages I was reviewing, I found this initiative of the Secretary of Culture, Recreation and Sports of the Colombian government to pay tribute to women weavers.
The beautiful project Weaving the Dreams of Older Women in Bogota aims to integrate and keep women over 60 active, providing them with a space for creativity and community. Hoy, recibí las felicitaciones de una amiga colombiana por ser tejedora, ya que que este 13 de julio se celebra en Colombia y en otros países el Día Nacional de las Tejedoras.
Le agradecí y de inmediato busqué por internet esta información. Entre las páginas que estuve revisando, encontré esta iniciativa de la Secretaría de Cultura, Recreación y Deporte del gobierno colombiano para rendir tributo a las mujeres tejedoras.
El hermoso proyecto Tejiendo los sueños de la mujer mayor en Bogotá tiene como objetivo integrar y mantener activas a las mujeres mayores de 60 años, proporcionándoles un espacio de creatividad y comunidad. Este proyecto me parece maravilloso porque permite que estas mujeres se mantengan conectadas, evitando así que se sientan solas o apartadas del mundo.
