Colgante de saberes, un recuerdo para siempre
Feliz y productivo día, mis queridos amigos creativos. Espero que estén muy bien con salud y bienestar, junto a sus seres queridos.
Este año, al acercarse la fecha de la misa por los tres años de la partida de mi mamá el 14 de septiembre, he querido preparar, de nuevo, algo muy especial para mi familia en Venezuela. Sé que ese día estará lleno de recuerdos, de sentimientos y también de unión, porque, aunque la ausencia de mi mamá duele, su recuerdo sigue vivo entre nosotros.
Por eso, pensé en elaborar unos recuerditos especiales, hechos con mis manos y con todo mi cariño, que llamé “Colgante de Saberes”. Quiero que sea además de un detalle bonito, un objeto cargado de símbolos y significados, que represente la misma fuerza que mi mamá nos transmitió siempre en vida.

This year, as the date of the mass for the third anniversary of my mother's passing on September 14 approaches, I wanted to prepare something very special for my family in Venezuela once again. I know that day will be filled with memories, feelings, and also unity, because although my mother's absence hurts, her memory lives on among us.
That's why I thought of making some special souvenirs, made with my own hands and with all my love, which I called “Pendants of Knowledge.” I want them to be not only a beautiful gift, but also an object loaded with symbols and meanings, representing the same strength that my mother always transmitted to us during her lifetime.
Materiales
Los materiales que voy a usar son sencillos, pero hermosos: cintas de colores, cola de ratón, cuentas de madera combinadas con doradas, un aro de madera como base y dijes muy significativos.
• Cinta velo estampado de corazón color café
• Cinta Velo con borde de color beige
• Cordón seda o cola de ratón 2mm café dorado
• Cordón seda o cola de ratón 2mm marrón
• Aros de madera
• Cuentas de madera y doradas
• Tijeras
• Pinza de bisuteria
• Yesquero
Y los dijes que elegí son:
• Las Tres Gracias (amor, fe y esperanza).
• El Elefante, símbolo de fuerza y protección.
• El Candado, custodio de lo más valioso.
• La Llave, representación de nuevas oportunidades.
• El Búho, guardián de la sabiduría.
Cada uno de ellos encierra una enseñanza que deseo compartir con mi familia.
Materials
The materials I am going to use are simple but beautiful: colored ribbons, rattail cord, wooden beads combined with gold beads, a wooden ring as a base, and very meaningful charms.
• Brown heart-patterned veil ribbon
• Beige-edged veil ribbon
• 2mm golden brown silk cord or rattail cord
• 2mm brown silk cord or rattail cord
• Wooden rings
• Wooden and gold beads
• Scissors
• Jewelry pliers
• Lighter
And the charms I chose are:
• The Three Graces (love, faith, and hope).
• The Elephant, symbol of strength and protection.
• The Padlock, guardian of the most valuable things.
• The Key, representation of new opportunities.
• The Owl, guardian of wisdom.
Each one of them contains a lesson that I want to share with my family.
Paso a paso con amor
Mientras elaboro cada colgante, pienso en mi mamá y en lo mucho que le hubieran gustado estos recuerditos. El proceso es sencillo, pero cada paso lleva un pedacito de mi amor.
- Corté las cintas y la cola de ratón en pedazos de unos 25 centímetros cada uno.
- Hice un nudo alondra en el aro de madera con todas las cintas para que las recogiera.
- Puse las cuentas de madera y las doradas, intercalándolas para dar un toque cálido y brillante.
- Colgué en las puntas los dijes del búho, el candado, la llave y el elefante.
- Para finalizar, hice un lazo decorativo con una de las cintas y en él até el dije de las Tres Gracias (amor, fe y esperanza). Ese es el toque final, el símbolo de las virtudes más grandes que nos dejó mi mamá: amor, fe y esperanza.
Step by step with love
As I make each pendant, I think of my mom and how much she would have loved these little souvenirs. The process is simple, but each step carries a little piece of my love.
- I cut the ribbons and rattail cord into pieces about 25 centimeters long.
- I tied a lark's head knot in the wooden ring with all the ribbons to gather them together.
- I added the wooden and gold beads, alternating them to give a warm, shiny touch.
- I hung the owl, padlock, key, and elephant charms on the ends.
- To finish, I made a decorative bow with one of the ribbons and tied the Three Graces charm (love, faith, and hope) to it. That's the finishing touch, the symbol of the greatest virtues my mother left us: love, faith, and hope.
La tarjetita
Cada colgante irá acompañado de una tarjetita que escribí con todo el cariño:
"Este colgante reúne cinco símbolos llenos de significado:

🐘 El Elefante – Fuerza y protección
🦉 El Búho – Sabiduría
🔑 La Llave – Nuevas oportunidades

Cada dije es un símbolo de que en ti habitan la fortaleza que te sostiene, la sabiduría que te guía, los caminos que se abren ante ti, la protección que resguarda tus tesoros y la gracia que Dios ya ha sembrado en ti.
Que este colgante te acompañe siempre como un amuleto de energía, luz y buenos deseos.
The little card
Each pendant will come with a little card that I wrote with all my love:
"This pendant brings together five symbols full of meaning:

Each charm is a symbol that you possess the strength that sustains you, the wisdom that guides you, the paths that open before you, the protection that safeguards your treasures, and the grace that God has already planted in you.
May this pendant always accompany you as an amulet of energy, light, and good wishes.
Un recuerdo que nos une y nos protege
Con este gesto quiero resaltar que cada dije encierra un saber: protección, sabiduría, oportunidades, gracia y fuerza. Unidos en un solo conjunto llevan el mensaje de que el legado de mi madre sigue vivo en cada uno de nosotros.
Cuando mi familia en Venezuela reciba estos colgantes tendrán un recuerdito de la misa y también un pedacito de mí, un símbolo de nuestra unión y la certeza de que el amor de mamá sigue siendo nuestro mayor amuleto de protección.
A memory that unites and protects us
With this gesture, I want to emphasize that each charm embodies a piece of knowledge: protection, wisdom, opportunities, grace, and strength. Together, they carry the message that my mother's legacy lives on in each of us.
When my family in Venezuela receives these pendants, they will have a memento of the mass and also a little piece of me, a symbol of our union and the certainty that Mom's love continues to be our greatest talisman of protection.
