Chronicle of a Flooded Kitchenđź’¦

Greetings and blessings, my dear friends in this community. I hope you’re all doing well and staying healthy 🙏🏻
There are definitely days when you learn a lesson—the hard way. And speaking of that, today I’d like to share a story about my home in Cumaná.
It turns out that on one of those occasions when the water went out—because, of course, it always happens when you least expect it—I had left the faucet running so I’d know when it came back on. It didn’t come back all day. So far, so good… or so I thought. What I didn’t take into account was the small detail that the drain was clogged with some dishes I’d left to wash when the water came back on.

The next morning, still half-asleep, I walked straight to the kitchen like any other day. But as soon as I took my first step, I felt something cold. I stood still for a second, trying to figure it out... until it hit me: the kitchen was completely flooded.
The water had come back in the early morning; the faucet was still running, and since the drain was clogged, everything had turned into a mini home swimming pool. There I was, standing in the middle of the mess, with a look on my face that said this can’t be happening, while the water kept staring back at me from the floor.

Amid laughter and a little frustration, I had to start my day mopping up water instead of enjoying a peaceful breakfast. So I brought out my entire arsenal: broom, mop, and bucket.
And even though in the moment all you can think about is the chaos, what’s left is the story I’m telling now with a laugh—but that day, it almost made me cry.
Moral of the story: never underestimate a faucet left running… and definitely not a pile of unwashed dishes, hahaha đź¤

Abrazos amiga
