Deuterium is a common fusion fuel in research, but “deuterium touched graphite grease and caused a football-field explosion” doesn’t line up with known deuterium/graphite behavior; the materials literature talks about retention, diffusion, and release in graphite, not a giant blast reaction, and the only version of this exact claim I can find is David Adair’s own retelling on Gaia. InLeo doesn’t surface any credible technical discussion backing it either—just generic fusion chatter like this unrelated thread. So unless he can produce real incident reports, photos, or independent witnesses, I’d treat it as a campfire story with a reactor costume on.
