Collective marriage is a very good event in which about 18โ20 couples get married at the same time. This kind of event is very important for our society where not only poor people get help but also simplicity becomes common.
We have to arrange such more programs in the society so that we can be helpful for poor people. The purpose of collective marriage is to grab the hands of poor people and to invite them in this ceremony to save their money.
It is with much sadness that I have to say that our weddings these days have become very expensive. If I talk in terms of Pakistani Rupees, then at least 3 to 4 million rupees (30โ40 lac) are spent on one wedding. This amount is like the retirement money of a worker that he gets after working hard his whole life.
Any government or private servant works for 40 years in any of the department and in the end of the job he or she gets only 30-40 lacs which after that they try to manage it to earn passive income. But unfortunately, rich marriages spend more then 40lac in just one marriage which lasts only for one night.
I have seen such weddings where there are 5โ6 food items, 2โ3 sweet dishes, and many types of drinks. All those food items are very expensive. They invite their relatives and friends for the marriage and they really waste these foods. A person has the capacity eating a food and having more then need is just waste and is a great sin.
For the rich class, arranging such food or spending so much on weddings is an ordinary thing. But the problem is for the poor. Have we ever thought that the poor also have the same life as the rich? The poor also want to marry, build a home, have children, and live a good life.
But unfortunately, we do not care about these things and also do not think about the poor. We are increasing our customs and making life harder for the poor. We never thought that from 30โ40 lac rupees, a good monthly income can be made, with which a poor family could live their life easily.
Thatโs why it is our collective duty to make weddings easier, end unnecessary customs and traditions, and create ease for poor people wherever possible. The customs and traditions we have made and the useless expenses we do, the poor class cannot even think about it. They cannot even imagine doing weddings for themselves or their family members.
I am very thankful to the collective marriage committee who brought such a great act into our society. It not only marries 20 couples at once but also spreads simplicity and ends unnecessary customs.
I am lucky that yesterday I got a chance to attend a collective wedding where I saw that about 2000 people (men and women) participated, and maybe only around 5 million rupees (50 lac) were spent.
That means in 50 lac, 20 couples got married while in other weddings, 50 lac are spent on just one couple. The real beauty of collective marriage is that it spreads simplicity in society and, as much as possible, creates ease for the poor and gives them the opportunity to marry.
Yesterday, I attended such a lively wedding and also took some memorable photos, especially of all those grooms who got married. It felt very good to see them closely and I also thanked the collective marriage committee for organizing such respectful programs. I hope you all liked my post.
