It is a very difficult time when we say goodbye to a close relative and they go on a journey for a long time. It really feels very strange when someone we love goes far from us, and this is the biggest test of patience for a person.
Travel is a part of the life and everyone in his or her life will go for travel whether for the short time or long period of time. Any of the travel which separates your from your loved ones is a sad moment and harsh time.
A few days ago, my respected father went to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj. This season comes every year in the month of Zilhajj, and people from all over the world travel towards Mecca and Medina.
Some of our relatives were with my father, and we all went to drop him at the airport. There were 8 people in total who went in 2 cars towards Quetta airport. The journey from my house to the airport is about 45 minutes.
When we reached the airport, there was a lot of rush there because it was a Hajj flight. Hajis from all over the city has flight starting from 9th May till 28th May. On the daily basis flights will depart for Saudi and may be more than one flight in a day.
The travelers were departing towards Medina, where they will stay for 8 days and then move towards Mecca, where they will stay for about 1 month. They mainly visit only 2 cities which they meet their spiritual beliefs there.
I dropped my father at the airport, and when it was time to say goodbye, I had two feelings at the same time, one of happiness that my father is getting the blessing of performing Hajj, and the other of sadness that my father will be away from us for 40 days.
Anyway, traveling is a part of life, and surely, everyone has to take the final journey one day, which is a truth. At the airport, we took some group pictures with all our relatives, and I also took a separate photo with my father.
May all the travelers have a safe journey and reach their destination. Remember, parents are the biggest blessing in this world, and as long as possible, we should value our mother and father.
While they are alive, they are like shade over our heads, and when they pass away, we feel orphaned — like the roof has gone from the house. We should value our parents, respect them, and listen to everything they say.

From your words you convey that you are very attached to your father. Fortunately his trip is for something beautiful, he is going to fulfil one of your most important traditions and he has a return date. This time when he will be away you will miss him, no doubt, and this will make you value his presence more when he returns. That's why the message you leave us at the end is important: always honour and value our parents when they are close to us. I hope the trip goes well and that he returns home blessed.
