It’s practically become a tradition for us to go on little outings with our neighbors, so this time we decided on a getaway to El Tocuyo and Cubiro. We started the day by heading to El Tocuyo to pick up our cousin and, while we were at it, visit our paternal grandmother. It was a heartwarming stop—she was so happy to see us, meet our friends, and share some delicious catalinas tocuyanas with ice-cold sodas. We chatted for a while until it was time to leave.
From there, we went straight to Cubiro. Since it was already late, our first stop was a restaurant to eat some good cachapas—nothing better to recharge your energy! With happy stomachs, we then walked toward the hills. The most excited ones were definitely Max and Kyoto, ready to run free and enjoy the fresh air.
We headed down to the lower part of the hills, where we found the perfect shady spot to lay out our blankets, relax, and take tons of photos. Between games, walks, and gazing at the sky, the afternoon flew by. And just as the sun was starting to set, we knew the day couldn’t end without one last essential stop: strawberries and cream!
And that’s how we wrapped up another day filled with nature, good food, and even better company. Simple moments that truly warm the heart.

Ya se ha vuelto casi una tradición salir con nuestros vecinos a pasear, así que esta vez decidimos hacer una escapada hacia El Tocuyo y Cubiro. Comenzamos el día yendo a El Tocuyo para buscar a nuestro primo y, de paso, visitar a nuestra abuela paterna. Fue una parada llena de cariño: se alegró muchísimo al vernos, conocer a nuestros amigos y compartir con nosotros unas riquísimas catalinas tocuyanas acompañadas de refresco bien frío. Estuvimos conversando hasta que llegó la hora de irnos De ahí nos fuimos directo a Cubiro. Como ya era tarde, nuestra primera parada fue el restaurante para comer unas buenas cachapas —¡nada mejor para recargar energías!—. Luego, con el estómago feliz, caminamos rumbo a las lomas. Los más emocionados eran, sin duda, Max y Kyoto, listos para correr libres y disfrutar del aire fresco. Nos dirigimos hacia la parte baja de las lomas, donde encontramos una sombra perfecta para extender nuestras sábanas, relajarnos y sacar muchas fotos. Entre juegos, caminatas y miradas al cielo, la tarde fue pasando sin darnos cuenta. Y justo cuando el sol comenzaba a esconderse, supimos que el día no podía terminar sin una última parada obligatoria: ¡las fresas con crema! Y así cerramos otro día lleno de naturaleza, buena comida y mejores compañías. Momentos simples, pero que llenan el corazón.
