¡Saludos comunidad! En el reto de esta semana quiero compartir con ustedes una estrategia que he estado usando con el Splinter de Tierra en partidas con las reglas de batalla: “Tis but Scratches”, “Close Range” y un límite de maná medio. Hago énfasis en esos aspectos del conjunto de reglas porque son los que me condujeron a la elaboración de la estrategia.

En esta oportunidad, les explicaré cómo afronté una batalla de ranked de la liga de Plata en el formato Moderno, enfocado mi análisis en explicar cómo usé al Splinter de Tierra, el Invocador Immortalis, y los monstruos Almo Cambio y Ava The Undaunted para formar una estrategia que me permitió ser coherente con las reglas de batalla presentes y las habilidades que quería combinar con la finalidad de tomar ventaja en la partida.

Ya que estos aspectos son un factor clave con un impacto considerable en el desempeño de nuestras estrategias.

Immortalis es un invocador legendario del Splinter de Tierra que reduce en 1 punto la vida del equipo enemigo, y otorga a los monstruos de nuestro equipo las habilidades: “Void” y “Shatter”. Las cuales reducen en un 50 % el daño mágico enemigo recibido, y destruye el escudo enemigo.

Almo Cambio es un monstruo legendario neutral que cuenta con buenos atributos, y posee la habilidad “Immunity”. La cual le permite ser inmune a los efectos negativos, tales como: “Poison”, “Cripple”, “Affliction”, etc

Ava The Undaunted es un monstruo legendario del Splinter de Tierra que cuenta con buenos atributos, y la habilidad “Weapons Training”. La cual otorga la mitad de su ataque ranged redondeado por exceso a los monstruos adyacentes a ella.

El propósito de combinar estas 3 cartas es que Almo Cambio tenga la capacidad de resistir el daño mágico, destruir el escudo enemigo y atacar. Gracias a las habilidades y el daño ranged, otorgado por Immortalis y Ava The Undaunted, respectivamente.

Hablemos sobre el conjunto de reglas presentes en la batalla, este es el punto de partida para iniciar el análisis que nos llevará a la elección más adecuada para afrontar la batalla.

Límite de maná igual a 33 puntos, esta cantidad nos permite elegir invocadores con un costo de maná preferiblemente de 3 o 4 puntos para tener holgura con la cantidad de maná restante y poder elegir buenos monstruos.

Tis but Scratches es una regla que otorga la habilidad “Cripple” a todos los monstruos en la batalla. La habilidad “Cripple” reduce en 1 punto la cantidad de vida total de un monstruo, cada vez que recibe daño. Por otra parte, la regla Close Range permite que los monstruos tipo Ranged puedan atacar desde la primera posición.

Entonces, tomando en cuenta todos estos aspectos, decidí elegir al Splinter de Tierra para realizar la estrategia mencionada anteriormente, combinando al invocador Immortalis con los monstruos Almo Cambio y Ava The Undaunted.

Hablemos sobre el equipo, y la estrategia que conforma. Dadas las circunstancias de la batalla, era evidente el uso de cualquier tipo de daño. Por lo que decidí usar al invocador Immortalis, ya que otorga las habilidades: “Void” y “Shatter”, las cuales reduce en un 50% el daño mágico recibido, y destruye el escudo enemigo, respectivamente. Además, disminuye en 1 punto la vida del equipo enemigo.

Almo Cambio fue el tanque en esta oportunidad, ya que cuenta con buenos atributos y posee la habilidad “Immunity”. La cual le permite ser inmune a los efectos negativos, tales como: “Poison”, “Cripple”, “Affliction”, etc. Asimismo, contribuir también con el daño gracias al ataque ranged otorgado por Ava The Undaunted.

Ava The Undaunted ocupó la segunda posición con el propósito de otorgar la mitad de su ataque ranged a los monstruos adyacentes a ella, mediante su habilidad “Weapons Training”. Asimismo, también contribuir con el daño desde la segunda línea. Cabe destacar que el ataque otorgado por la habilidad “Weapons Training” se redondea por exceso.

Epona ocupó la tercera posición para aumentar la vida del equipo en 1 punto mediante su habilidad “Strengthen”. Y también contribuir con el daño desde la segunda línea gracias al ataque ranged otorgado por Ava The Undaunted.

Goblin Psychic ocupó la cuarta posición con la finalidad de dar soporte al tanque, mediante su habilidad “Tank Heal”. Y también contribuir con el daño desde la segunda línea.

Vampiric Blossom ocupó la quinta posición para contribuir con su daño desde la segunda línea, y tomar ventaja en la batalla mediante sus habilidades: “Oppress” y “Deathblow”, dadas las circunstancias.

Fungus Fiend ocupó la última posición para proteger al resto del equipo de posibles ataques “Sneak” enemigos.

Como les mencioné anteriormente, combinar al invocador Immortalis con los monstruos: Almo Cambio y Ava The Undaunted fue una buena opción. También es importante incluir habilidades de soporte que le permitan a nuestro tanque y al resto del equipo resistir lo suficiente.

Observen como para el turno 6 de la ronda 4, el equipo enemigo estaba casi abatido. Almo cambio resistió bastante bien, gracias a las habilidades: “Immunity”, “Void” y al soporte de Goblin Psychic mediante su habilidad “Tank Heal”. Por otra parte, gracias a la habilidad “Weapons Training” de Ava The Undaunted, se aprovechó el ataque ranged por parte de Almo cambio y Epona. Asimismo, el apoyo de Goblin Psychic y Vampiric Blossom con su daño desde la segunda línea también ayudó mucho para debilitar al enemigo, y Fungus Fiend cumplió muy bien su objetivo de proteger al resto de la composición de los ataques “Sneak” enemigos.

La estrategia planteada hizo un uso eficiente de la cantidad de maná disponible, cubriendo aspectos tales como: resistencia contra el daño enemigo, soporte del equipo, una buena ofensiva, y coherencia con el conjunto de reglas presente.

Una debilidad de esta estrategia es una ofensiva enemiga basada en un elevado daño ranged o melee, y que incluya habilidades como: “Stun”, “Giant Killer” y “Return Fire”. Además de invocadores que reduzcan los puntos de daño ranged y velocidad.

La diferencia entre las estrategias fue que la segunda línea enemiga no contaba con el daño suficiente para abatir a mi tanque, y el soporte de su estrategia no fue suficiente para mantener a su tanque en pie. Lo que resultó en una gran desventaja para él.

Para una adecuada sinergia de nuestras estrategias es importante considerar todos los aspectos involucrados, por lo que no sólo debemos enfocarnos en los atributos y habilidades a combinar. También debemos tener en cuenta la influencia de los conjuntos de reglas sobre la estrategia.

In this week's challenge I want to share with you a strategy I have been using with the Earth Splinter in games with the battle rules: "Tis but Scratches", "Close Range" and a medium mana limit. I emphasize those aspects of the rule set because they are what led me to the development of the strategy.

In this opportunity, I will explain how I faced a Silver league ranked battle in the Modern format, focusing my analysis on explaining how I used the Earth Splinter, the Summoner Immortalis, and the monsters Almo Cambio and Ava The Undaunted to form a strategy that allowed me to be coherent with the battle rules present and the abilities I wanted to combine in order to take advantage in the game.

Since these aspects are a key factor with a considerable impact on the performance of our strategies.

Immortalis is a legendary summoner of the Earth Splinter that reduces the life of the enemy team by 1 point, and grants the monsters of our team the abilities: "Void" and "Shatter". It reduces by 50% the enemy magic damage received, and destroys the enemy shield.

Almo Cambio is a neutral legendary monster with good attributes, and possesses the ability "Immunity". It allows it to be immune to negative effects, such as: "Poison", "Cripple", "Affliction", etc.

Ava The Undaunted is a legendary Earth Splinter monster with good attributes, and the ability "Weapons Training". It grants half of its ranged attack rounded up to the monsters adjacent to it.

The purpose of combining these 3 cards is to give Almo Cambio the ability to resist magic damage, destroy the enemy shield and attack. Thanks to the abilities and ranged damage, granted by Immortalis and Ava The Undaunted, respectively.

Let's talk about the set of rules present in the battle, this is the starting point to begin the analysis that will lead us to the most appropriate choice to face the battle.

Mana limit equal to 33 points, this amount allows us to choose summoners with a mana cost preferably of 3 or 4 points to have slack with the amount of remaining mana and to be able to choose good monsters.

Tis but Scratches is a rule that grants the ability "Cripple" to all monsters in battle. The "Cripple" ability reduces the total amount of life of a monster by 1 point, each time it takes damage. On the other hand, the Close Range rule allows Ranged monsters to attack from the first position.

So, taking into account all these aspects, I decided to choose the Earth Splinter to perform the strategy mentioned above, combining the summoner Immortalis with the monsters Almo Cambio and Ava The Undaunted.

Let's talk about the equipment, and the strategy it conforms. Given the circumstances of the battle, it was evident the use of any type of damage. So I decided to use the summoner Immortalis, since it grants the abilities: "Void" and "Shatter", which reduces by 50% the magic damage received, and destroys the enemy shield, respectively. In addition, it decreases the life of the enemy team by 1 point.

Almo Cambio was the tank in this opportunity, since he has good attributes and possesses the "Immunity" ability. This allows him to be immune to negative effects, such as: "Poison", "Cripple", "Affliction", etc. Likewise, it also contributes to the damage thanks to the ranged attack granted by Ava The Undaunted.

Ava The Undaunted occupied the second position with the purpose of granting half of her ranged attack to the monsters adjacent to her, through her ability "Weapons Training". Likewise, it also contributes with damage from the second line. It should be noted that the attack granted by the "Weapons Training" skill is rounded up.

Epona took the third position to increase the team's health by 1 point with her "Strengthen" skill. And also contribute with damage from the second line thanks to the ranged attack granted by Ava The Undaunted.

Goblin Psychic occupied the fourth position with the purpose of giving support to the tank, through his ability "Tank Heal". And also contribute with damage from the second line.

Vampiric Blossom occupied the fifth position to contribute with its damage from the second line, and take advantage in the battle through its abilities: "Oppress" and "Deathblow", given the circumstances.

Fungus Fiend occupied the last position to protect the rest of the team from possible enemy "Sneak" attacks.

As I mentioned before, combining the summoner Immortalis with the monsters: Almo Cambio and Ava The Undaunted was a good choice. It is also important to include support abilities that allow our tank and the rest of the team to resist enough.

Notice how by turn 6 of round 4, the enemy team was almost down. Almo instead resisted quite well, thanks to the abilities: "Immunity", "Void" and the support of Goblin Psychic through his ability "Tank Heal". On the other hand, thanks to Ava The Undaunted's "Weapons Training" skill, Almo Cambio and Epona took advantage of the ranged attack. Likewise, the support of Goblin Psychic and Vampiric Blossom with their damage from the second line also helped a lot to weaken the enemy, and Fungus Fiend fulfilled very well its goal of protecting the rest of the composition from enemy "Sneak" attacks.

The strategy proposed made efficient use of the amount of mana available, covering aspects such as: resistance against enemy damage, team support, a good offensive, and coherence with the present rule set.

A weakness of this strategy is an enemy offensive based on high ranged or melee damage, and including abilities such as: "Stun", "Giant Killer" and "Return Fire". In addition to summoners that reduce ranged damage points and speed.

The difference between the strategies was that the second enemy line did not have enough damage to take down my tank, and the support of their strategy was not enough to keep their tank standing. This resulted in a big disadvantage for him.

For a proper synergy of our strategies it is important to consider all the aspects involved, so we should not only focus on the attributes and skills to combine. We must also take into account the influence of the rule sets on the strategy.
