Trip in Lara State – Monument Manto de María Divina Pastora

Hola viajeros de esta hermosa comunidad, ¿cómo estan el día de hoy? Espero que muy bien, y se encuentren llenos de salud y de buena energía.

This time I had the joy of visiting the Monument Manto de María Divina Pastora in Lara state, and I want to share this beautiful experience with you.

En esta ocasión tuve la dicha de visitar el Monumento Manto de María Divina Pastora en el estado Lara, y les quiero compartir esta bella experiencia.

We headed to the east of the city, where the monument is located. The entrance fee is one dollar per person and there is parking, where you can already enjoy the beautiful view. We started to walk up an inclined path, where you can find craft stalls, such as scapulars, bracelets, paintings with the image of the Virgin, hammocks, and other woven items, as well as desserts and typical sweets from Lara state.

Nos dirigimos al este de la ciudad, donde se encuentra el monumento, la entrada cuesta un dolar por persona y cuenta con estacionamiento, en el cual ya se puede apreciar la hermosa vista. Empezamos a subir un camino inclinado, en que te puedes encontrar con puestos de manualidades, como; escapularios, pulseras, cuadros con la imagen de la virgen, hamacas, y otras cosas tejidas, además, postres y dulces típicos del estado Lara.

Along the way, you come across these beautiful flowers that decorate the view towards the Virgin. I learned that the experience begins even before reaching the monument, so you have to take the time to appreciate the view and surroundings.

En el camino te consigues estas hermosas flores que adornan la vista hacia la virgen, aprendí que la experiencia inicia aún antes de llegar al monumento, así que hay que tomarse el tiempo de apreciar la vista y los alrededores.

Once you finally arrive, you can fully admire the majesty of the Manto de María monument. At the bottom, you can see a small water canal surrounding it. From there you can see a large part of the city, but a big part of the experience is going up, and that’s what we did.

Al por fin llegar, se puede admirar por completo la majestuosidad del monumento del Manto de María, en la parte de abajo se puede apreciar un pequeño canal de agua que la rodea. Desde allí se ve gran parte de la ciudad, pero gran parte de la experiencia es subir, y eso hicimos.

The monument is framed by two towers and a bridge at the top, each tower has 22 floors. I was honestly very excited to climb all those floors. Between floors there are lookout points, where you can see the figure of the Virgin.

El monumento esta enmarcado por dos torres y un puente en la parte superior, cada torre de 22 pisos, la verdad yo estaba bastante emocionada de subir todo esos pisos. Entre pisos se encuentran unos miradores, en el que se puede ver la figura de la Virgen.

Once at the top, what looks like a bridge from the outside is actually an observatory inside with windows overlooking the city. It was one of the best parts of this adventure; in this hallway, you can really feel the breeze.

Ya estando arriba, en el que por fuera parece un puente, por dentro te consigues este mirador con ventanas con vista a la ciudad, fue una de las mejores partes de esta aventura, en este pasillo se puede sentir bastante la brisa.

But if you still want to go a bit higher, you can reach a terrace, which would be the highest point of the monument. Up there, nothing separates you from the sky, and it makes the experience even more special. However, the day I went it was raining a bit, so I enjoyed the bridge part more since it’s covered.

Pero si aun así, quieres subir un poco más, te puedes conseguir con una terraza, que vendría siendo el punto más alto de Monumento, ahí nada te separa del cielo, y hace la experiencia aun más especial, sin embargo el día que yo fui estaba lloviendo un poco, así que me gustó más la parte del puente que esta techada.

Feeling super satisfied from having seen the city from that height, I went down all the floors really happy. These moments make me feel incredibly grateful to have two healthy legs to climb so many floors and have this beautiful experience. I think that’s the point of places like this— to reflect and connect with ourselves.

Estando super satisfecha de haber visto la ciudad desde esa altura, baje todos los pisos super feliz, estos momentos me hacen estar super agradecida de tener dos piernas saludables para poder subir tantos pisos y tener esta hermosa experiencia, creo que ese es el punto de este tipo de lugares, entrar en reflexión y conectar con nosotros mismos.

This place is not just any place; it is a National Monument of the Manto de María Divina Pastora, considered the patroness of Lara state. Reportedly, it began construction in 2014 but was opened to the public in 2016. It stands 63 meters high up to the bridge and 47.17 meters for just the sculpture, which was designed in a kinetic art style.

Esta lugar no es cualquiera es un Monumento Nacional del Manto de María Divina Pastora, considerada patrona del estado Lara. Según, se empezó a construir en el 2014, pero estuvo abierta al público en 2016, Tiene 63 metros de altura hasta el puente y 47,17 metros sólo la escultura, la cual fue diseñada con un estilo de arte cinético.

The Divina Pastora symbolizes something very important for the people of Lara. Every January 14th, a procession is held in her honor.

La Divina Pastora, simboliza algo muy importante para las personas de Lara, cada 14 de enero se realiza una procesión en su honor.
