Hola bella comunidad de Hive Pets, ¿cómo va su día? Espero muy bien, yo encantada de compartir por aquí por primera vez.

Let me introduce you to Owen, the newest member of my family. Since I was a child, I had only ever had dogs as pets. Last year, I suffered the loss of Chiqui, my pet since I was five years old—he passed away at 16. At that time, I still had another dog, Kyoto, and we decided not to adopt any new pets for a while since we were happy with just one dog at home.

Les presento a owen, el nuevo integrante de mi familia. Yo desde niña había tenido de mascota solo perros, el año pasado sufrí la pérdida de chiqui, mi mascota desde los 5 años, falleció con 16 años. Para ese momento tenía otro perrito, Kyoto, y nos cerramos a la idea de volver a adoptar por los momentos, ya que estábamos muy bien con solo un perrito en casa.

However, over a week ago, someone abandoned three baby kittens in the common areas of my building. Every day, my sister and I would check on them. @ariwang always made sure to leave them food and water, and we assumed someone would adopt them before they got too big. In the first few days, someone took one of the kittens, but time passed, and the others were still there. We considered adopting the female kitten since she looked the weakest, but we felt bad about leaving the last one alone.

Pero, hace más de una semana, alguien dejó tres gatitos bebés en las áreas comunes del edificio. Todos los días pasábamos mi hermana y yo a ver los gatos, @ariwang siempre se encargaba de dejarles agua y alimento, y contábamos con la idea de que alguien los iba a adoptar antes de que crecieran. Los primeros días alguien adoptó a uno de los gatitos, pero fue pasando el tiempo, y nadie se llevaba a los otros, nos planteabamos la idea de adoptar la gatita hembra ya que era la que se veía mas débil, pero nos daba lástima dejar al que quedará solo.

Then, one morning, my sister realized that the female kitten had been adopted, leaving only one behind. We went to buy more food, but seeing him all alone—when he had been used to the company of his siblings—he looked so sad that we felt the impulse to bring him home with us.

Hasta que una mañana, mi hermana se dio cuenta que se habían llevado la gata, y solo quedaba uno. Fuimos a comprarle más comida, pero, al verlo solo, antes acostumbrado a la compañía de sus hermanitos, se veía triste, entonces tuvimos el impulso de traerlo con nosotras.

And that’s how we adopted Owen. At first, he was a bit distant and even slightly skittish, but to our surprise, he quickly got used to our affection. It’s only been two days, and he has already become inseparable from me, which makes me so happy.

Y así fue como adoptamos a Owen, al principio se mantuvo un poco distante con nosotras, e incluso un poco arisco, pero, para nuestra sorpresa se acostumbro muy rápido a nuestro cariño, solo han pasado dos días, y se volvió inseparable conmigo, lo cual me hace muy feliz.

We gave him a bath with warm water—he was quite dirty! We found a few fleas on him, but nothing too concerning.

We hope that Kyoto and Owen will become friends soon. For now, they’re still keeping their distance. Kyoto is a very timid dog, so he’s afraid of Owen, while Owen curiously approaches him. I’m glad there’s no hostility between them—that’s already progress.

Le dimos un baño con agua tibia, y la verdad si estaba bastante sucio, le hemos conseguido una que otra pulga, pero nada para que alarmarse.

Esperamos que próximamente Kyoto y owen se vuelvan amigos, por lo momentos siguen distantes, Kyoto es un perro muy temeroso, así que le da miedo owen, y owen por su lado se le acerca con curiosidad, me alegra que no haya un ambiente hostil entre ellos, eso ya es una avance.

Since I was little, I’ve always loved cats. They still fascinate me to this day. However, I had never had one before, aside from the occasional stray that my mom would feed. So, this is a beautiful first experience. I’m happy Owen came into our lives—he’s definitely made things more interesting!

Desde niña me gustaban mucho los gatos, la verdad me causan mucha fascinación hasta el día de hoy. Sin embargo nunca había tenido uno, excepto uno que otro callejero que alimentaba mi mamá, así que esta es una bella primera experiencia. Me alegra que owen habrá llegado, ha vuelto las cosas más interesantes.
