Hello guys!

Yeeeeey I'm back again with my Splinterlands post. I will share one of the battles with a very risky strategy, namely using Taunt monsters in battles with Ferocity rulesets.

Well, I'm neither a proplayer nor a tournament hero. I just enjoys sharing strategy and battles that I find interesting in my own view. I played on modern battles on Diamond leagues using my scholarship account with IGN bltzr-wizard-700, and maybe the battle strategies I'd share weren't suitable to apply in other leagues because the differences in ability that open up are different from each league.

Ok guys, without further ado, let's get straight to the heart of this post!

BATTLE PREPARATION

Challenge Rules

RULESET: Ferocity

Description:
All units have the Fury ability.

Think carefully before including a unit with Taunt in your lineup as they will take double damage from units with Fury.

The rulesets in this battle are:

  • Taking Sides (Neutral Monsters may not be used in battles)
  • Unprotected (Monsters do not have any Armor and do not get Armor from abilities or Summoner Buffs)
  • Ferocity (All Monsters have the Fury ability)
  • Mana Capacity 57
  • Active Element Water, Earth, Life and Dragon.

Line Up and Strategy

It is clear that the best strategy in the Ferocity ruleset is to avoid using Taunt monsters, this will increase your chances of winning. But if you are sure that the Taunt you use is a very strong tank and even though the attacks of all enemy monsters to the Taunt monster deal double damage but you are still able to overcome it, then you can still use the Taunt monster, just like the strategy I will use. Well, the affairs of each monster and the strategy that I will use can be seen in the table below.

MonsterPositionAbilitiesStrategy
photo_2023-06-27_06-21-40.jpgQuix The DeviousSummoner-1 Range, -1 SpeedBecause this is a High mana battle, then I chose Dragon Summoner so that I can use Dragon monsters that have an average mana capacity, and Quix The Devious which has debuffs that reduces the magic damage of all ranges of enemy monsters and reduces the speed of all enemy monsters is the best choice.
photo_2023-06-27_06-21-12.jpgDiemonsharkFirstTrample, Enrage, RetaliateDiemonshark is the main tank because it has a large Dmage, high Speed, large HP and Armor and has the abilities Trample, Enrage and Retaliate which also support being an attacker. So Diemonshark in addition to protecting the monsters behind it will also provide a large and deadly attack to the opponent's Tank.
photo_2023-06-27_06-21-12 (2).jpgFlying SquidSecondReach, Blind, BackfireFlying Squid in the second position in addition to being an attacker who has very high speed is also a supoort because he has a Blind ability that will increase the chance of the opponent's attack being missed. In addition, as a second tank, this monster also has Backfire ability, so if the opponent's attack misses it will turn to the attacker. This is very supportive for this monster because it also has high speed and is also Blind.
Chaos DragonThirdFlying, Scattershot, Blast, BlindChaos Dragon is the main attacker in this form, because it has great magic damage accompanied by Blast and Scattershot abilities which certainly make the attacks of this monster very explosive. Even though this monster has a very large mana, the stats it has are also appropriate because it has the ability Scattershot and Blast is also equipped with the ability to fly, and also Blind for defense and support.
photo_2023-06-27_06-21-12 (3).jpgDeeplurkerFourthOpportunity, Poison, DemoralizeBesides Chaos Dragon, Deeplurker is also another deadly attacker. Moreover, this monster has enormous Opoortunity ability and damage and has Poison. Demoralize that reduces melee damage for all opposing monsters is also active, and this will help the defense for this formation.
photo_2023-06-27_06-21-12 (4).jpgAngelic MandarinFifthTriage, SilenceAngelic Mandarin is the most important support in this formation because he is the only healer with Triage ability who will restore HP taunt monsters in this battle and also has a Silence ability that will educate magic damage from all enemy monsters.
photo_2023-06-27_06-21-11.jpgWave BroodLastTaunt, Close Range, Void, Return FireEven though the use of Taunt monsters in the Ferocity ruleset is like suicide, but because Wave Brood has a very large HP and ability that even though it will get double damage from Fury monsters, it will not be too deadly. This is because the Brood Wave has a Void as well as a Return Fire. Moreover, other supporting monsters will also reduce damage from opponents' attacks, both magic and melee. As for range, the rang's attack for this monster will turn to the attacker as well. So I'm sure using this Taunt in Ferocity rulesets.

You can see the complete line-up of both teams in the picture below.

The opponent used summoner General Sloan with Uriel the Purifier formation as a tank in first position, Adelade Brightwing in second, Djinn Renova in third, Pelacor Albares in fourth, Time Mage in fifth and Prismologist as deal damager in last position.

I've also included a youtube video of this battle that you can play right away.

This battle runs pretty fast and only takes 3 rounds to complete. It can be seen that the damage from the opponent's monsters cannot penetrate the defense of the deck I built. Because of the solid defense and also the right attack I was able to win without difficulty.

round1.jpg

As usual, this battle begins with buff and debuff parties from all Summoners and Monsters. Both teams get debuff speed, but my monsters still have a higher average speed than the opposing monsters. The Time Mage with the highest speed gets the first attack opportunity. But it didn't take long until Uriel The Purifier died due to successive attacks from Flying Squid, Angelic Mandari, Diemonshark and Deeplurker. Adelade Brightwing resurrects Uriel The Purifier. My monster aunt, Wave Brrod died at the end of the first round.

round2.jpg

The second round begins with the Time Mage's attack on Diemonshark and immediately activates Diemonshark's Enrage. This makes Diemonshark's speed go up and get attacked. Diemonshark's attack kills Uruiel the Purifier and then Trample ability activates and continues to attack Adelade Brightwing which makes Adelade Bringtwing die. Not long after, Djinn Renova also died from Deeplurker. Until the end of the second round, on the opponent's side there were only 3 monsters.

round3.jpg

The third round began with Diemonshark's attack that missed Pelacor Albares, but Pelacor Albarest then died from Flying Squid's attack, then followed by Time Mage died from Angelic Mandarin's attack, and the opponent's last monster, Prismologist died from Deeplurker's attack. I won by only losing 1 monster. You can see the final result of this battle in the picture below.

Nice game!

One question - how are you uploading video to YouTube?

I get the battle link from Splinterlands. Can that be directly used on YouTube? Or you have a software which screen captures the battle and gives you the video file?

There is no special software, I use the default screen recorder from windows with (Windows + G) to record battles, then I upload it on youtube, and I crop videos online so there is no need to use additional applications.
