SPS Stake will Replace Collection Power (CP)

SPS is a hot topic in the splinterlands these days and people have mixed opinions. Today I have seen a couple of posts in which players are talking about the change and what they are going to do to deal with the changes which I understand because one has to plan things accordingly. This change was already part of the road map so I'm sure this should not be a surprise for most of us if you have gone through the road map already. It is not a surprise for me because I knew that it will be happening so I am fine with the change which has been announced in the recent town hall.

I have gone through a couple of posts and I can see that people are sharing mixed opinions where some of them are in favor of the change and some of them are not. There have been multiple changes in the past in the game and so far most of them have positively supported the game. I don't know what will happen after the implementation of sps stake that is going to replace the collection power. one of the bigger concerns that people raised is about the card value. In the current system, the card power plays an important role in collection power. Once we will have no collection power in place then why would people hold some cards having high power & because of this we can see some reduction in card prices.

I mostly play in Diamond League and wanted to upgrade my cards further so that I can play in Champion league but seems like the upgrade in the game through SPS will bring a different requirement. I already have almost 100K SPS in my account and now I'll need to think about it that how much I need to have more because the current one is not sufficient for me to play in a higher league. As far as I understand then anyone can play but the reward will be reduced As for the sps holding so if you are expecting a better reward in the game then it is a requirement for you.

SPS Buying Plan

This is not a surprise for me so I am somewhere prepared that I will be buying more tokens to grow my holding and this is how I am going to deal with the situation as well which is coming as a change in the game. Sometimes things seem to be difficult in the first place but later on, once we are familiar with this then we realize that the change is good. Now when we already see the price of the sps token going down so there has to be some solid use case in the game else anyways earning more tokens will not be fun because of the low value. Even if we go with the current mechanism in place then it is highly expected that sps will drop even more So what rewards you are expecting when the token price is quite low?

We need cards to play the game because with low-level cards, we cannot expect a better gaming experience and if for this reason, I see a drop in the card market then I am going to buy some. I am not sure what amount I will invest but its going to be decent. Some people were not happy when collection power was introduced but now we are familiar with it. Only time will tell what impact this change will bring in the game and I am looking forward to seeing it.

Matt shared this table and many people are not happy with this SPS stake requirement-

I expect the sps price to grow further because it is the same token that was valued at almost $1.00 and now it is available at just 2 cents. I'm sure that team must be having some plan in place to deal with the challenges which might come on the way and even they might have expected that people might not be happy with the change because the community can have different opinions.

I am going to see how things will change in the market for sps as well as cards and wherever I see some buying opportunity then we'll invest some amount to grab the deal. I have been buying sps for a long so maybe after this change I need to focus on more SPS to match the requirement and its anyways my goal in the game. Based on my collection power I can pay up to Diamond 2 league and for that, I need to have 127k SPS. I already have almost 98k so I just need another 30k approx to be there so its not a big thing for me. This is applicable in my case if I want to be in the same league that I have been playing for a long. If I want to level up then for sure I would have to invest more.
