Burn event for DEC and DEC-B is Live in Splinterlands

Splinterlands game has completed 5 wonderful years on the blockchain and as part of this celebration, they have come up with the burn event. This is the first time when they have come up something like this where people will be rewarded if they are in the leaderboard through the tokens burn on the event page. We know that with the burn we add more value to the token economy and that is what I believe the game is trying to do because they will reduce the circulation supply significantly.

Burn Event is On

The burn event has gone live on the website and this is going to be a 30 days event where anyone can participate however more points will be allocated to the ones doing it on day one and similarly as early as they do. This is a way that has been implemented to encourage more people to do the burn on day one and even if they miss then also they try to get it done as soon as possible. We can only burn DEC or DEC-B tokens and I am sure that this way a bigger chunk of tokens will be taken out from the game but later on with lands there will be demand so sps will be used to accommodate the need I believe. This way SPS will also get some price appreciation I think because the only mechanism we have in place is to burn SPS and get DEC tokens. I know that Splinterlands is always 1 step ahead to do something that can be a good value addition to the game and this is a good example.

To celebrate the fifth anniversary of Splinterlands, we're giving away a giant heap of prizes to players who burn DEC or DEC-B. As a bonus, anything you burn will also become Guild Power to level your guild buildings. It's our way of saying thank you for joining us on this amazing ride.

Bigger Reward pool

This time the burning is rewarding which means if you were more than you are eligible to earn more through the reward pool because the team has built a bigger reward pool having multiple assets in this. There is a leaderboard that is updated based on the tokens burned by any individual in the game and accordingly, there is a potential for the price which is also updated.

Here is the snapshot of the reward pool where you can see that almost every asset is there and that two with significant quantity. This is going to be great and rewarding for sure because I believe more people will be participating in the event by burning the tokens. After all, they want to earn some fantastic rewards out of it while adding value to the game ecosystem.

They have also mentioned that more points will be rewarded for the early burn. it means if you burn tokens on day one then you will get 3x more points which I think is worth it because that will increase the probability of rewards significantly. This is worth to get it done on day one so that we get more points for the same and I'm also gonna check it out to see how much I need to burn to be on the leaderboard.

On the first day of the Great Burning, you'll get 3 points for every DEC or DEC-B you burn. But each day that passes, you'll receive fewer and fewer points, until the final day, when you'll receive 1 point for each DEC or DEC-B you burn. This rewards players who get in on the action early and makes it harder to snipe the top leaderboard spots at the last minute.

LEADERBOARD

The leaderboard is also there and here is the list of 10 participants who have done bigger burn but this is not final because I am sure there will be many players doing more burn tokens. This event is for 30 days so the initial days must be so much fun and that is what I will keep track of.

The timer is also on it is just started so there is a lot to see. The competition is going to be fun and full of excitement. this year has been amazing so far in the game because there has been a lot of development and also they have come out with this initiative to reduce the token supply significantly which is also a great initiative.

I look forward to seeing how this event goes forward and what number of tokens are burned by the veil players in the game because the kind of response it's seen now would be even bigger I believe. Every token burn counts and as a reward, there is a possibility to earn something big so we should not be missing this opportunity and try our best to burn as much as we can because you never know if you end up getting something significant as part of the reward.
