Many people imagine wanting to be Elon Musk.
The wealthiest person on the planet, running six generational companies simultaneously that are changing lives, transportation, energy, AI, and space.
From the outside it can look incredible — private jets, constant headlines, influence, power.
Most people, however, don’t grasp what comes with all of that.
What many don’t see is the weight… the heaviest burden constantly on their shoulders, one that never turns off.
When responsible for building the future of humanity, there’s no clocking out. Every decision matters. Every mistake is amplified. Every delay, failure, and critique lands on the same person.
This kind of pressure is exhausting and can destroy someone mentally and physically if unprepared.
Yes, he inspires millions and pushes many to think bigger, persevere, improve themselves, and feel excited about the future. But leadership at that scale is not fun most days — it’s lonely and intensely stressful.
If most people experienced a single day in that role, with nonstop hardest decisions and the responsibility of moving humanity forward, they’d likely conclude it isn’t the life they imagined.
They’d probably say, “I’m good right where I am.”
There are probably days when even he wishes he weren’t himself.
This is why he needs support. It helps him stay sane.
