Through the Years

I like walking around the grounds of churches and monasteries — there’s a certain sense of permanence about them.

People come and go, generations pass, cities grow and change beyond recognition, yet the churches remain right here, where they have stood for many years.

In the evening, when the sun lights up the domes against the clouds, it’s easy to imagine how many sunsets they have already witnessed.
