One of the Inhabitants
(Edited)
It seems zoos will never go out of style.

After all, where else can you see an ostrich, a penguin, a dolphin, a white tiger, a gorilla, and a crocodile all in one day? Each of them has its own little world here, neatly separated from the next by a fence or a pane of glass. The setup is simple: everyone has their assigned spot, and all you have to do is stroll from one enclosure or pool to the next.

But sometimes the zoo's boundaries turn out to be less rigid than they seem. You might run into someone who got in without a ticket — a lizard, say, basking in the sun and studying you with quiet curiosity.
Perhaps that's the real secret of zoos: you come to look at the inhabitants, only to find you've become one of them.
