Part 9/15:

Night memories often replay not as neutral recordings but amplified emotional stories. They reveal how we saw ourselves—more confident, more composed, more in control—and how the actual moments differed. Sometimes, we idealize past resilience; other times, we harshly judge our past reactions.

Memories serve as guides, not judges. They reflect what mattered deeply—values, aspirations, fears—and show where we strayed. When these memories recur, it’s a sign that certain lessons remain unlearned or unresolved. Reinterpreting them with present understanding allows us to extract growth, rather than remain trapped in regret.
