I guess under that assumption I wouldn't be against it too.
But in the Islamic understanding we don't get to heaven upon death but our souls are waiting for the day of judgement first and then everyone will be judged for where they'll go, so we'll still be considered "not alive" in that state.
Also, thanks for having a civil conversation, on some online communities, this topic is a landmine and I don't like arguing.

Yeah haha. I know how it goes in other online posts. haha. Really nasty sometimes. But I'm glad too we're having this conversation. At least we get to see each other's religious perspectives better. 😁
In Catholicism, we believe that upon Jesus' resurrection He opened Heaven up so nobody who died and did good on Earth will be "waiting" anymore. Because everyone who followed God's laws/teachings and died prior to Jesus was in a place called "Abraham's bosom". When Jesus resurrected He went there and brought them all to Heaven. So since then anyone who dies would be judged immediately by Jesus to go to Heaven, Hell or Purgatory.
The 2nd coming is when we will all be "alive" again as we would be resurrected like Jesus with both body and soul combined during the Day of Judgment...
Interesting...
