I was surprised by how realistic Layers of Fear visuals were, I thought it was a game from the PS3-era due to its small download size, then again, there are no human models. The environment succeeds in creating a surreal and claustrophobic mood. The story is delivered mainly through the environment and the paintings scattered around the mansion...
I didn't finish the game, and I'm not sure if I'm going to revisit it. From what I gathered is that the protagonist is some painter who lost a loved one, and the game explores his mindset of feeling trapped via all these rooms. If you'd like to watch my playthrough, I have the link below:
