Let's Play "Cosmic Star Heroine" - 01 - The SkyBreaker Incident

Cosmic Star Heroine is a turn-based RPG set on fictional planets on space with human and alien characters. The story features a nice cyberpunk-style pixel art. The story follows Alyssa and her friends as they unravel a galaxy-wide conspiracy. As a short JRPG-styled indie project, this game is around 12-18 hours long.

The turn-based system is unique in that you have certain amounts of skills you prepare before the battle, and you're only allowed limited use for each one. Another interesting aspect is how many playable character are there in Cosmic Star Heroine, and despite being short, the game manages to give them all strong personalities and character arcs.

I loved this game. The pixel art is beautiful and the (admittedly few) cutscenes are a sight to behold. Some parts of Cosmic Star Heroine were very challenging, though in general this game difficulty was just right. I'm excited to play the next works of this developer!

NOTE: I didn't record this game thinking I'll upload it so there may be weird parts where the game sits idle as I stop playing for a minute or two.

I enjoyed your description of the fight against the Cursed-Rotted Greatwood. That type of boss blends strategy with the game's twisted atmosphere very well, and your description conveys just how tense the fight can be. Furthermore, connecting the victory to the story's progression and the Great Souls theme adds significant weight to the experience.

I'm not talking about a meme xD. I'm talking about the game's OST and how it complements the experience.
