Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact (Demo) [Mini-Review] [Gameplay]
During this Steam Next Fest, (June 2025,) I wishlisted many games I saw for the first time, and downloaded a bunch of Demos. One Demo I was excited for is the anime 3x3 fighting game Hunter X Hunter: Nen x Impact.
I'm not big into fighting games, but I have my share of casual Tekken playthroughs. I also loved Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm series of arena fighters. The gameplay of Nen x Impact flows very well, and I love simple but very faitful-to-the-anime 3D models and animations for all Hunter x Hunter characters.
Hisoka is equally creepy in the game compared to the anime. Lol
With Nen x Impact we finally have a good Hunter X Hunter video game. I think the last video game for the series was Wonder Adventure for the PSP, though HxH characters appeared in many crossover games, and many, many more mobile games since...
I can't help but wish Nen x Impact released 5 years ago (or ideally, 10 years) when Hunter x Hunter had more hype.
The Demo only shows 6 characters, with 12 blank spaces for other characters. Even the opening doesn't showcase most of the cast of Hunter x Hunter. At least the four main characters, Hisoka, Chrollo, and Mereum, are there! What more do we want? Ging? Illumi? Alluka?! ...wait, I want those characters!!!!
The Demo doesn't have Online Play Mode either, but since the full game will have a decent Online presence, (I assume,) I hope they add more characters,.

I didn't know there was a hunter x hunter game in development. I'm not much of a fighting game either, but this one doesn't look bad, I think if you know the Anime it will get your attention and if you're a fan you'll probably end up getting hooked. It is curious that they have chosen just this saga for what you say, nowadays it is not much talked about or has so much popularity
I'd seen other HxH games, but I wasn't familiar with this one. The combat system looks attractive; I think it'll be a matter of testing it out a bit more! But it looks good.
This one is an upcoming game, they just released the Demo.
