Batman: Arkham Asylum [Let's Play] - 01
Batman: Arkham Asylum is the superhero game! Set within the walls of Gotham's infamous psychiatric hospital, the game follows Batman as he fights through hordes of escaped inmates and iconic villains to stop Joker's sinister plan.
Arkham Asylum's combat system makes you feel like a true martial arts master. The game also introduces stealth mechanics using Batman's full arsenal of gadgets and one of the first games to feature a Detective Mode button.
I wanted to play this game for years and only got to it now... It's actually my brother who bought it for his Steam account, which made finally experiencing it myself. . Arkham Asylum didn't disappoint! I really love the combat system, and I'm impressed that Arkham Asylum is supposed to have the weakest version of it..., If this is the "worst" it gets, then I can't wait to see how the sequels refine it further. The game absolutely made me feel like Batman!
While I'd recommend this game to any Batman (or really, any action-adventure game) fan, the stealth missions weren't as easy. As soon as I was found out, I was dead. Still, it makes me feel great when I finally overcome the challenge!! Funnily enough, the Scarecrow missions weren't very bad compared to normal stealth missions with mob enemies...
I love how Batman tools are introduced graudally, giving players a lot of time to adapt to each one. It also made me know what's the most likely tool to use in a puzzle: always the newest aquired tool! It wasn't easy to switch between tools mid-combat, though, so I fought mostly bare-handed~
