My Cleaning Exercise For Sunday, the 18th of February, 2024

Happy Sunday to you all, welcome to my blog.I decided to take action and clean up the gutter after church service today. I took some garbage bags and started picking up the litter. It was quite surprising to see how much waste had accumulated in this gutter.

As I cleaned, I realized the importance of a clean environment. A littered area not only looks unsightly but also poses health and safety risks. Litter can attract pests, such as rats and insects, and can become a breeding ground for bacteria and diseases. Moreover, certain types of litter, like plastic, can take hundreds of years to decompose, causing long-term harm to the environment.By cleaning up the litter, I was not only making the area visually appealing but also contributing to the overall health and well-being of the community.
Once I finished cleaning, I could see the transformation of the area. It looked clean and inviting, and I felt a sense of satisfaction knowing that I had played a small part in making my community a better place.

Thank you for reading my blog post.

Today I would like to discuss the Solid wastes sanitary landfills.
The Sanitary landfill is designed to prevent the spread of diseases, the contamination of groundwater, and the emission of odours or other nuisances.

The process of operating a sanitary landfill involves several steps. First, the site for the landfill is carefully selected, taking into consideration factors such as proximity to populated areas, geological features, and environmental regulations. The site is typically lined with clay or plastic liners to prevent the leakage of liquid waste into the surrounding soil and groundwater.

Next, solid waste is brought to the landfill and compacted to reduce its volume. This is done using heavy machinery such as compactors or bulldozers. The compacted waste is then covered with a layer of soil or other suitable materials, known as daily cover. This cover serves to control odours, prevent the attraction of pests, and minimize the dispersal of litter.

At the end of each operating day or at more frequent intervals, a final cover is applied over the entire landfill area. This cover consists of a layer of soil, clay, or synthetic materials that provide a barrier between the waste and the environment. The final cover helps to control gas emissions from the decomposition of organic matter within the landfill.

Overall, the goal of a sanitary landfill is to safely and efficiently dispose of solid waste while minimizing the negative impacts on human health and the environment. Let's choose a more friendly method of refuse disposal,to save our planet from destruction.
