Unnecessary heavy tax

Addiction is very very bad and there is nothing we can do unless the person addicted is willing to come out of it. It is very annoying when you see someone who is addicted to a particular habit or food.

When you see anything evil there is always a force that is behind it. Taxes or no taxes people will still go on and do evil as long as they are already addicted to it.

I have a friend that can do anything just to take alcohol. He don't even care the cost. Whenever he feels like taking it, there is nothing you do that will stop him.

Looking at sugar for example, we can't classify it under unhealthy food. We use sugar to do lots of things that is beneficial to the society. Most of us here use bread for our breakfast, and some take snacks. Most juice also contain sugar and we all take it in one way or the other. By the time we put such heavy tax on sugar, it will practically affect most of the things we use because we use sugar daily. Infact what I am even saying? Sugar is already very expensive in the market and we are all seeing how costly our bread is and everything that uses sugar. If you don't need sugar maybe because you don't use it for your tea, you should know that you still use in indirectly everyday.

While maybe someone will say that sugar is not too good for us, what about the kids that still needs sugar in their system? What happens to them? Should we go ahead and stop them from using sugar? No. That is not possible because they need it for their growth. Agreed that most adults don't need sugar because of their health, but we still have people using sugar in most of the things we consume everyday without our knowledge. And that is the reason why our food today is very expensive.

PUTTING ON HEAVY TAX. MY OPINION
Marijuana, tutolin, gum, and all sorts of things used by these guys to get high are all what people use for a particular reason. Take for example gum, shoe makers use gum to make shoes, even bags. So, should we now advice the government to increase tax on gum producers to make it very expensive and people can not afford it? This will affect everyone using it wether for good reason or bad. And even making it very expensive will not stop them from using it to get high. Infact, it will make them to go for it the more.

Secondly, looking at the cough syrup for children and even adults, should the price be made very high just because some people are abusing it. No. These and more are what should be considered when increasing the price of something just because we think that we want to stop people from using it.

Just like I mentioned from the beginning of this post, addiction can not be stopped just by increasing the prices of commodity. Instead it will even increase the intake by people involved. But we can stop them by creating awareness to the public on how bad the intake of such wrongly can be. We just keep letting people know the harm and just maybe we can save some lives. We are not even sure of saving all of the people involved, but just those who may believe what we are saying.

I agree with you, it is a problem of information and education, that people know the consequences of abuse. I think that if they were shown how difficult it is to live as diabetic or having an addiction to any of these things, people could decide to be more careful when intake of these substances.

Being addicted to a thing is a bad thing because no matter how expensive it becomes the victim will always have a way of getting it just to satisfy himself. Even sugar, I have seen people who can't do without it, in everything moderation is needed

This post has been a reminder to me that I must insist on leaving bad habits behind, especially sugar. I'm doing well, but as you say, there's always something negative behind everything addictive. With strength, we can overcome anything. Great reflection, my friend. Thank you so much for sharing it. Sending you a big hug! ❤️
