The advantages and disadvantages of AI in the society

For the topic for week 51, it says AI in Education. And for me I always try to see the good side of anything that I am doing. In the olden days when our parents don't know anything about computers and it came up, some people thought that it is the devil himself that came out. Hahaha 😂😂😂. I remember how we use to be scared of touching the computer those days and today everyone is using it to solve one or two problems daily. Those days if you tell someone who is afraid of the computer that it will sweep across every area of life today, he will refuse to accept it. but today what has happened to us? We are all enjoying it.

Another one today is the AI. This is what is used in almost every sphere of life. The office of the president, governor, senates and all ministers all use it on daily basis to solve different problems. I see this as an advancement of technology which is very helpful to the society at large and will continue to help us. Even those that reject it now will still accept it tomorrow because they will still need it. Having said that we should also put into consideration the points below.

This is where the society should focus. What are the disadvantages of AI to our students today?

We have what we call GIGO. which means in computer garbage in garbage out. Most students that use AI today don't really want to do anything again. It has introduced laziness and we have accepted whole heartedly. AI should not make me stop using my brain. As a student if I want to use it to search for any answer or solve any problems. I should also sit down to read and adjust what I don't want there and then include what I want to be there. When this is not done, then we are not helping ourselves. I need to deal with laziness because even AI itself will tell you that it can make mistake so you need to check the answers very well.

MY LAST EXPERIENCE WITH AI

I made a research about something with the AI and when I got the answer I was so happy just reading the few few paragraphs. I didn't know that there was an inconsistency in between. I printed out and gave to the person who should help go through it. Later on I decided to sit down and go through it, it was then that I discovered that there was a major error in the work and I couldn't retrieve it again. I blamed myself all through because I never took my time and read all the work before giving it out. Since then I have been praying that the person should not see that error because it will reduce his respect for me. He sees me as the tech lady and respect all my work. But now I don't know how to fix this again. All of these happened because I use AI to get the information and I never checked to confirm
