OUR INDUSTRIES FUNCTIONALITY IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO BE CONSIDERED.

Privatizing industries might even be better for some countries. There some few things to be considered when looking at the topic. Some countries are suffering today because the government does not function very well. Though almost every thing is handled by the government meaning that it will be cheaper, but do we really think that it is cheaper? Hmmmm!

I really want to ask us this question. What makes us think that something is cheap just because the government is handling? Infact some government have ended up destroying what they are sopposed to preserve for their people because of the people involved in that government.

Here in Nigeria, no matter how the government try to control things so that it will benefit every citizens of the country, it does not work. The problem that we have is the individuals involved with those properties. let's take for example when we had what we call NEPA. What happened? I know that to an extent they supply power better than now, but the government was not benefiting anything good from it. Even to raise the money for the workers was a problem back then. The government will still have to take from another source to pay workers working directly under NEPA. But we were paying. Where was the money going into? It is obvious that The people involved with collection of the money will only use it for their own benefits. They will only bring a little for the government which can not be used for anything tangible. But now that it is privatized, at least to an extent the money goes to the right place.

LET'S LOOK AT IT FROM THIS ANGLE.
privatizing it will make it more expensive, but the services will be very okay. Or allow the government to manage all the industries, make it cheaper for us, but the services will be very very poor. This is the cross road where we are. Which do we prefer?

FROM MY OWN PERSPECTIVE.
Having what I need at the right time is more important to me than having it cheap and it will never work for me how I want it. I am speaking my own mind right now which I believe may not go down with everyone, but that is the way I see life. Even when I go to the market to buy anything, most times I don't like going for the cheaper one unless I don't have the complete money with me. Someone once said that buying a more expensive material is actually cheaper than buying the cheap one. Why did he make that statement? For someone who prefers to buy the expensive one will use it for a very long time, while the person who bought the cheap one will only use it for a short period and go back to buy another one. Then which is cheaper? The most expensive of course. And that is why I don't like buying lesser quality cheaper things.

If those industries are privatized, that is when we can get the best services. In Nigeria now, who loves taken his or her child to a government schools if not because the money is not there. If you have the money, the best place to take your children for good education is the private schools. Why? Because the owners of this private schools will make sure that your child get the best education. But what happened to the government schools? We have the best teachers there. We have the bigger buildings there, but most teachers are not ready to work because is owned by the government. Some of them just come there to gist with friends, and when it is time to go home, off the go. Maybe they children never learnt anything for that day and is never the business of the teachers.

I totally understand your point. It’s true that private companies often provide better services, but they also make things more expensive. The main issue is not just about privatization but proper management. If the government could manage industries well, people wouldn’t have to rely on private options. In the end, what matters most is having access to quality services when we need them.

I agree with you that it is better to pay for a quality and durable service, than for one that will always be poor. The same happens in Venezuela, and I believe that the solution to this is a greater amount of presence of private investors to offer better services.

Privatizing these services will make them more expensive, but at least people will have better quality services. However, note that only those who can afford them will be able to enjoy these improved services.
