Agricultural Mindset. Garden egg and it's leaves for herbal purpose and food

Hello friends. Welcome back to agricultural mindset for this week. I am very happy to be back again.

For this week I want to share something very special that I discovered recently that I can make enough money from it if I begin to plant it in my farm. I traveled home and went to visit a friend, then I noticed that she have this great vegetables garden that is so appealing. I went over to see for myself. Then I noticed that it was garden egg leaves that she planted. It will also produce the garden egg itself in due season. I asked a few questions and I was told that she makes a lot of money from it during the harvest because she usually carries it to the market and sell to people who are interested. During it season it is very expensive I'm the market.

Uses of the leaves:

1. It is used as medicine for maleria. You can just wash the leaves and drink the bitter water and it will wash away the maleria in your system.
2. It is used to make soup. Though it is not all soup because it is a little bitter, we use it to make some soup.
3. It is used to cook our local food or traditional food. In Nsuka land especially this particular leave is used to prepare different traditional food and the taste is always very great. Some of the traditional food are: Ichepe, Otipiri, okokoro and the rest. Sorry because I can't translate the names of the food to English language. This is just what we call it in our language.
4. It is used to prepare abacha. This is another special traditional food of the Igbo people. A little of the leave is added to the abacha to add to the taste.
5. The fruit is called garden egg which is mostly used by many families today especially in Africa. We use it to serve our visitors together with the soup that is prepared with grandnut and other species.
