A Statue that changed a ladies name in school

A good picture speaks of itself without anyone speaking for it. When you see a picture that is worth taking, you will know. This picture I just took reminds me of something that happened some years back and each time I walk pass the picture I can't help but just start laughing. Hahaha 😄. It actually funny.

This picture belongs to me.

This picture is a statue of a woman stylishly laying down and reading in front of our school library. The library itself has been there since the beginning of the school decades ago. If anyone is passing to the school compound or maybe walking to the hostel, the statue there point to the fact that this is where you can come and read anything you are free.

WHY I CHOOSE TO TALK ABOUT THE PICTURE?

This picture belongs to me.

some years back, I lady was given admission into the college of education to study English with the combination of social studies. The very first day she got to the school compound was the first she was seeing a place like that. Fortunately for her, she came into the school compound late in the night. She had no one to show her around. The car stopped her at the school gate and she managed to find her way into the school compound and looked around for anyone she could ask of the hostel where she was going to. She didn't see anyone close by to ask that question. She walked a little further and saw someone reading and was not ready to raise up her head even to look at who is passing. But because she didn't see anyone to ask, she decided to ask the lady reading to show her the way to the hostel. The first time she greeted, there was no answer. She greeted again and there was no answer. At this point, she became angry and thought to herself that the lady was not ready to answer her greetings, so no need to even ask for any direction. She turned to move away, but something told her to walk a little closer to the lady reading and still greet again, it could be that the lady did not hear her the other time. She made attempt to greet again, this time also like the rest the lady did not answer her again. This time she decided that this lady must answer me whether she likes it or not. She moved closer and touched the person reading only to discover that it was not a human being that was there, but only a statue. That was when she looked at it very well. Touched it again and said that this oyibo people chop witch ohh! So no be person me and him dey talk since. I don fall mugu today. Hahaha 😄. It really funny. From that moment her friends in school and course mates started using it to make jest of her in school by calling her JJC, meaning "Johy just come" it continued until she graduated from the college.

THE MESSAGE FROM THIS EXPERIENCE
It has taught me never to get to a new place late in the night. I need to get to that place in the day time in order to study the environment very well.

This post was inspired by the hive learners community contest for week 62 edition 3 titled: Take a pic.

It's really funny. I think the perfect posture of the statue contributed in confusing her.
