Sacrifice the lettuce - Dailyprompt

This lettuce was one of a kind. No one had seen something as fresh and juicy as this lettuce. The scientists took it to the lab to test it's make and qualities. The lettuce knew that it would be sacrificed for the greater good of all. The scientists were saying that if they could break and see what the actual reason was behind this unique lettuce, they could potentially recreate it using nanotechnology and biogenetic methods. It would require the sacrifice of the lettuce at the end but it was all worth it once they were done.
