Drive off the cliff- Dailyprompt

As the fog rolled in, Jack's GPS led him down a treacherous mountain road. Distracted by a ringing phone, he veered off course. The car careened toward the cliff's edge, and time slowed. Jack's heart raced as the wheels screeched, inches from the abyss. He jerked the wheel, and the car skidded to a stop, mere inches from disaster. At that point he realized how invaluable life is. He saw that life has to be protected and it requires conscious effort in that pursuit. He went to his home and told his family about it. This little incident changed his perspective of life.
