What It Means To Do Good 

Doing good from your heart is something that begets rewards. Most people love doing good just to favor themselves. Some are so good just to take accolades. At the same time, most people who always do good from their heart always meet their greatness, while some would fall back to become worse in whatever they are doing to get money. This is due to the nature of the people we have around us. Most people do not love the progress of others, and they are just there to destroy the good people who love doing good from their hearts.

A man I knew so much happened to be the kind of person who always does good to people. He does these things from his heart and out of passion. He was loved by many people, while some pretended to have love for him. One fateful day, he came from traveling and bought bread for those who were in his compound, except for a particular woman. It escaped his mind, and he even did not think to her side. But after sharing the bread, everyone was happy and prayed for him for being so good.

This said, the woman kept it without letting the cat out of the bag. She has been playing with this man with a deep grudge she has against this man within her heart.

One day, this man fell sick. His sickness was so serious and had been carried from one hospital to the other without finding a solution to his sickness.

After two months of illness, he came across a man of God who saw a vision for this man. He told the man that his sickness was not ordinary. He said to him that someone so close to him was behind his sickness. Likewise, he doubted deeply just because everyone loved him.

The man of God said again that the woman was so close to him, and she had this grudge against him just because of what you bought one day and refused to give her.

This man was shocked, as this had never occurred to him before. He said he had never for once, made the mistake of not giving everybody gifts, leaving one person behind.

The pastor said to him, “You bought some loaves of bread hoping to have given them all to everyone, but this said the woman was not given; maybe she was not present that day.”

This man began to think back but found nothing of such. After some time, the pastor told this man, “Buy gifts to everyone in your family as well as your neighbors in your compound. Make sure to distribute it yourself. Anyone who rejects the gift is the person involved.”.

The man got home and did as instructed. After a while, a woman in his compound rejected the gift. She said, “Is it now of all days you have to give me a gift?”

The man was shocked to hear this statement from this woman. “You have been the one I cherished most in the compound. There is nothing you have asked for that I have not provided. Is this the reason for paying me evil for the good I had done to you?” The man cried out.

“You gave others bread but refused to give me. Now you want me to collect your gift? God forbid, I can't collect it," she confessed.

The man called the pastor to come and witness what was happening. He immediately came after an hour. He began to pray, and after a few minutes, the woman began to confess what she had done. This was the end of the man's predicament.

After that day, he limited his way of giving, but then the pastor told him to keep on doing the good he had been doing from his heart.

Most people do good just to win favor from people. They are those types who can pretend, but then the good they are doing is not from their heart.

In another way, when you give, publishing it online means the intention of gaining something from people. Maybe gaining the influence of some set of people.

Helping me to gain something else is not a problem, but then such a person is a crab. It strongly suggests that he was not ready to help initially.

There are so many people like that, but then we just need to be wise with them.
