“Dad, what's this placed by the corner of the door? Did someone send us a kidnapping letter or letter bomb?” Zara, who was just seven years old and a brilliant girl said. She took after her late grandma, who was a lawyer. With her knowledge, she's going to proceed to a higher level. Without waiting to finish what he was doing, David ran out just like someone who something was chasing. “What is it and where is the letter? Hope you did not touch it?”
“No, dad. It's still lying beside the door and in the same position I saw it”. Zara watched her dad as he moved closer to the door. She shifted backwards because that letter looked too suspicious.

David picked it up and checked the handwriting on it. He cannot forget this handwriting even in his next life. He gave out a deep breath, but was afraid of opening it. She left me for another man, and now she is sending me a letter? Is this not rubbish?” He was soliloquizing initially, but later flamed up immediately.
“What's the problem dad?” Zara asked after seeing the way his dad rose without anyone being with him.
“Is anything the matter? Have you checked or read through the letter?” Zara, who was just a child, could not understand what was in her dad's mind.
“No, dear, I haven't. I was just talking to myself after remembering what had happened in the past”, he spoke out a lie just because he did not want her to feel sad with the letter.

David decided to take the letter, but it looked so new and fresh, just like a newly written letter. He sat gazing at the letter, remembering how he was playing around with his wife and how they were both arguing sometimes over what does not matter. He smiled deeply.
“You know the way I loved you and how I always cared for you, but then you left me for another man”, tears rolled down his face.

He carefully opened the letter and spread the sheet on his palm. The first line was so touching and annoying.
“How are you and my daughter, Zara?”
“You'd better stop asking and stop pretending to be caring”, David was so annoyed and wanted to squeeze the letter. He later thought twice to keep reading.

“I know you might be angry with me, but I only left but have not left you, as my heart is still all yours “, David sat comfortably, trying to read further. He knew they both loved each other, but then he was so shocked to see his wife on Facebook and every one of her profile pictures posing with another man. He had no choice other than to break up the marriage, although they only went their separate ways but not properly divorced.

“I have been sick for all these while and do not want to let you know just because of your situation”, there was a close distance of heartfelt rain draining David's body as he read through that line.

“I have kept this from you just to get better before revealing this to you”, David's heart rose to its peak. He was holding a bunch of keys, which he never knew. Zara rushed to her dad, “Dad, hope all is well?”
“Yes, dear”, he tried to maintain calmness.

He kept reading. “I had been sick for over four years now and was not able to get cured”, David's heart raised a bit. He felt pain, and his hatred for his wife started wearing away.

“You accused me of posing with a man on my social media handles, but that man is my uncle who resides abroad. He took me abroad after hearing the nature of my illness. I tried to call you, but you were not able to answer my calls, and you could not even return the calls.“
“Oh, no, no, nooo….. I'm so sorry, my dear. I'm so sorry. I never knew this was what happened “, David was lamenting right in his room, talking to the paper he was holding.

“Although I knew you would react because if I were in your shoes, I would do the same”. “No dear, I have reacted too much. I have gone too far to have ignored you for four good years”, he soliloquized.

“Hope Zara is fine? Please, I'm fine now and in front of your house”, David could not wait a bit before flying off from his room. He ran just like someone who had been chased. Zara ran after him, and behold, His dear Dara was outside waiting to receive a warm, heartfelt love from David.

After running to the gate, he saw Dara, and his heart rose as he halted a bit. Deep inside Dara’s heart was this spirit of happiness to have won the heart of her husband back.

David ran as Dara jumped on him happily. Zara was still watching as she only seen her mum last in a picture after four years of leaving her with her dad.
“Come and hug your mum,” David said smiling.
“Why the sudden change?” This kept ringing in her mind.
Dara instead rushed and hugged Zara. “My child, I'm so sorry for leaving you for four years. I'm home now, and all is well again. “Everything will fall back to the way it used to be”, Dara murmured into Zara's ear.
