Promise Without Fulfiling Is Not The Best

Promises are meant to be kept intact and not to be broken except on rare occasions. One can lose trust in the one who has promised to give something. This strongly suggests that we have so many effects of broken promises. In another case, when you break your promises, your dignity and personality may be tampered with. No one would run to you for such a thing ever again since the first one has not been met.

People around you, after hearing that you are not a trustworthy fellow, would change their way of living with you. They may not be able to give you their words and so would always face outside instead of inside.

My husband happened to promise me something special some time ago. He said he was going to buy me a phone last month. I kept hoping to receive the phone, as my mind was just up and high with the thought of receiving the phone from my heart. Each day I remembered the phone, my mind kept on evaporating to the highest level. I'm the type who loves praising my husband no matter the situation.

He had gone to his Jumia app to add the phone to the basket. Each time I take his phone, I must always log in to the Jumia app just to see the phone. I was waiting patiently for last month to come to an end. Before the month ended, some obstacles started showing their faces, which was normal. My landlord called him for his money, although we still had a month to go. And we always pay before the last month. So, I was not ready to persuade my husband to forget the landlord's words about my phone, as the house rent was important. When last month ended, he forgot the fact that he had to buy a phone for me before paying the rent.

Being a good wife, I reminded him that he had broken his promises. He was confused, and I had to remind him of what he had promised me. I told him that, although it's normal, it's better to pay the house rent than to buy the phone. We laughed over it. Although, that was just normal and understandable.

Most people would intentionally break their promises. This is not the best; instead, it signifies that such a person should not be trusted in any way.

Back to my side of the promises.
Children are always in pain when someone does not give them what he or she has promised them. I promised my daughter last term that I would buy her a pair of shoes when she performed excellently in her exams.

To my surprise, she cleared all her papers and left me with no word. I was short of words when I saw her results cleared, and nearly in flying colors. I did not buy her the shoes. This caused her to grumble. She told my husband, her dad, about it. So, I broke her promise knowingly to me. My husband had to rescue me to buy her the shoes all in my name. This was how I escaped the scene.
